Joy Prom is an annual full-scale prom for the special needs individuals in our community. We will be needing many VOLUNTEERS to help serve our guests!

Formally attired guests arrive on the red carpet and are escorted by volunteers who help them with make-up, shoe shines and photo opportunities. Joy Prom Community — We Need Your Help!
My dear friend Luke Wollner, a senior at Davie County High School, is completing a research project focused on individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and how social interaction impacts emotional well-being.
He is inviting individuals on the autism spectrum and/or their caregivers to complete a brief, completely confidential survey.
📝 The survey takes just 10–15 minutes
📅 Please complete it by February 24, 2026
Your participation would not only help Luke with his important research project, but also contribute to greater understanding of social connection and emotional health within our community.
Please also consider sharing this survey with any groups or communities you’re part of where individuals may be willing to respond.

Fun fact… for the last 4 years that I have been director of Joy Prom, I have had a song (or often times two songs) that are the inspiration for that years Joy Prom theme.

Have you ever wondered what happens to all the leftover food and beverages from JOY PROM?
The leadership team has made it our mission to ensure that the food and drink left over from Joy Prom each year makes it to a mission that serves the needy in the Winston-Salem area.
This morning I had the joy of dropping off all of our leftover food off at The Dwelling to be served to those who are hungry.
When JOY is shared it multiplies!
As I finally lay down to go to sleep all I can say is that my cup runneth over.
To all of our guests, caregivers, and volunteers… Thank you for making our world more beautiful. I sincerely love each and every one of you and am beyond blessed to be able to spend this beautiful night with you!
You bring me and the world so much JOY!!!

Joy Prom Winston-Salem guests and caregivers! Come pick up your name tags and avoid the lines at check in on prom night! Come hungry and enjoy dinner at Jason’s Deli. One of our favorite supporters and restaurants is hosting this fund raiser for us! 20% of sales 5:00 to 9:00pm, Monday, Oct. 27th. Just tell the associate at the register you are there for Joy Prom!
