✨ So, I turned 44 this year. And yes, I know to some of my fabulous seniors that still qualifies as a youngin. But let’s be real…age is relative, and 44 is the oldest I’ve ever been, so I’m feelin’ it. 😴

This past year, I started noticing things… like how my forehead lines have decided to become full-time residents, and my eyebrows and cheeks seem to be slowlyyy seeping downward. Cute right ?! 🫤. Occasionally I’ll stand in the mirror, push my skin back at my temples to remember what I looked like at 27. 🔥 Then I let go… and gravity’s like “oh hell nah, we’re staying.”

And yeah. That moment stings a bit. I catch myself feeling less-than, like I should “fix” it. But then I ask why? Why is looking like the grown ass woman I am somehow a problem?

Here’s the truth… aging is weird. It’s beautiful, it’s humbling, and sometimes it’s just flat out rude! I totally get why women turn to Botox or fillers or whatever makes them feel like their best selves. I’ve considered it, too! I’ve stared at my forehead and thought, “girlll, you need Jesus… or a vile.” 🤪

But here’s what ive concluded, for me anyways, my face tells a story. The laugh lines, the tired eyes, the skin that’s protected babies, heartbreaks, joy, and a few late night snacks. I feel most like myself when I’m embracing the natural, tweaked maybe, with a good skincare routine and a whole lotta prayer 😂 , but still me.

These lines? I earned them. Just like I earned the right to parent my way, love myself on my terms, and not let society tell me how a woman “should” look at 44. 💪

So yeah… I’m cool with this age. I’m proud of it. But also… Pass me my damn Farmasi anti-wrinkle cream. Mama’s not trying to look like a raisin. 😅💁🏻‍♀️ you heardddd. 😘
