Throw back post to last year's International Adult Ballet Festival!

It was such an honor to teach all these wonderful adult dancers and meet Julie in person for the first time!

Sending my love and support to all of you who will be participating in this wonderful even coming up on July 6th!

I think my favorite part was seeing all the different ages and ability levels come together in learning and performing the art of ballet!

Good luck to all my students who are participating this year!

We’ve all been there—trying to stretch more only to feel like the needle isn't moving the next day...

As adult dancers, our bodies deserve a more nuanced, anatomy-informed approach to mobility.

I’ve just published a new article on the blog exploring PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) stretching.

It’s a powerful, science-backed tool that works with your nervous system rather than against it. It’s not about pushing harder; it’s about signaling your muscles to safely release and regain the control you need for your adagio and daily life.

In the article, I break down:
✅ How the 'inverse myotatic reflex' works.
✅ Why you should be cautious of who helps you stretch.
✅ How this technique can make your post-class recovery feel like a reset rather than a chore.

If you’re ready to start moving better, check out the full article:

The Science of Mobility: Why Adult Ballet Dancers Should Integrate PNF Stretching 06/19/2026

Are you stuck in a flexibility plateau?

Discover why adult ballet dancers should add PNF stretching to their routine — it's about neuromuscular control, not just holding a stretch.

The Science of Mobility: Why Adult Ballet Dancers Should Integrate PNF Stretching Many adult ballet dancers rely on holding stretches to improve flexibility. This approach often leads to diminishing returns. If your progress has plateaued or you experience chronic stiffness during ballet class, you may be missing a vital component of neuromuscular control.Proprioceptive Neuromusc...

As adult and senior dancers, posture training is about much more than appearance — it directly affects balance, joint support, coordination, breathing mechanics, and long-term function.

In my training programs, I combine my background as a Certified Personal Trainer, former Physical Therapist Assistant, and professional dancer to create ballet-inspired conditioning that supports healthy movement patterns in a safe and sustainable way.

These sessions are designed to be:
• Low impact and joint conscious
• Easy to modify for different ability levels
• Time efficient for busy schedules
• Accessible from home with minimal equipment
• Focused on posture, stability, mobility, and functional strength

Whether you are continuing your ballet journey, returning to movement after time away, or simply wanting to maintain strength and independence as you age, these classes are designed to help you move with more support, awareness, and confidence.

I thought the "return to stage," chapter in my life was closed for good...

This photo is from my February performance of Dying Swan, and looking at it now, I’m just overwhelmed with thankfulness for my body.

It taught me a profound lesson: When your training is sound, safe, and methodical—NOT forced—your body listens and responds gently.

I didn't "fight" my way back; I trained my way back.

Now, I’m dancing with Tip Top Dance here in Arizona, and we’re already preparing for our next showcase in February!

The best part? This past week I started doing grand jetés again for the first time post-surgery. I even pulled a Firebird leap out of nowhere—which totally shocked me!

To my fellow adult and senior dancers: Your time is not up.

Have hope, even if it seems crazy.

No matter your age or what you’ve been through, your body is capable of incredible things when it’s treated with respect and science-backed conditioning.

Ready to find your way with ballet?

Whether you are looking for in-person or private online training, I’m here to help.

As a Professional Dancer and Certified Personal Trainer, I combine therapeutic techniques, progressive exercise, and mobility training to keep you dancing for life.

While it’s a "classic" in the dance world, the frog position doesn't account for every dancer’s unique hip anatomy—especially for those of us navigating adult and senior ballet journeys.

Forcing a position that fights against your natural bone structure can lead to more problems than improvements.

In the Turnout and Hip Health course on the Veronica K Ballet platform, we move beyond the "one-size-fits-all" approach.

We explore evidence-based mobilizations and functional strengthening exercises designed to support your range of motion and longevity without the strain.

Forcing turnout by tilting the pelvis and straining the ankles creates a cycle of compensation that often leads to chronic injury.

True rotation in adult ballet should prioritize joint longevity and functional alignment over simply hitting an aesthetic line.

My latest YouTube training helps you identify these common patterns and transition toward a safer, more sustainable practice.
