Massachusetts Women Of Color Coalition
We envision a Commonwealth of authentic inclusion where racism and sexism no longer dictates the outcomes of women of color and our communities.
Massachusetts Women of Color Coalition is dedicated to eradicating the racial inequities among women of color created by structural, institutional, interpersonal, and internalized racism. We will address racial inequities through authentic inclusion in the areas of politics, education, economic empowerment, criminal justice and health and wellness. Our success will maximize the benefits and contributions for all aggrieved communities of color and the Commonwealth as a whole.

MAWOCC is growing and the next decade is already taking shape.
As MAWOCC celebrates 10 years of work across Massachusetts, the coalition is looking ahead with a bold vision: to continue expanding programs, growing membership, and raising $15 million over the next 10 years to support women and girls of color.
This vision is made possible through community. Every donation, membership, partnership, and act of support helps sustain the programs, events, advocacy, and spaces that MAWOCC continues to build.
If you believe in MAWOCC’s mission, we invite you to be part of what comes next.
Support the work by visiting mawocc.com.
Corporate matching opportunities are also welcome.
MAWOCC’s work is strengthened by community.
Through membership, women of color can access intentional spaces, programming, and community designed to support their lived experiences, leadership, connection, and growth.
Through the ally/supporter pathway, those who believe in MAWOCC’s mission can also be part of the work by supporting, amplifying, and participating in spaces that help move the mission forward.
There is a place for everyone who believes in building a stronger future for women and girls of color. Each pathway is created with care, purpose, and a shared commitment to community.
Learn more about membership and ally/supporter pathways through the link in bio.
What makes MAWOCC different is the space it creates.
For women of color across different cultures, languages, backgrounds, and lived experiences, MAWOCC is a place to come as they are, and know they belong.
Through integrity, openness, and collaboration, the coalition continues to build spaces where women of color can feel supported, connected, empowered, and seen in the fullness of who they are.
This is belonging in practice.
This is MAWOCC.
For Rosa Ivy Fernandez, MAWOCC is more than a coalition. It is a space of support, healing, and community.
As a longtime member and Health & Wellness Platform Coordinator, Rosa’s story reflects the personal impact of being in spaces created for women of color navigating systems that are often unjust, exhausting, and isolating.
Through MAWOCC, she found a community that reminded her to care for herself, honor what she was carrying, and reconnect with her own well-being.
This is why health and wellness matters.
This is MAWOCC.

Meet Rosa Ivy Fernandez, MAWOCC member and Health & Wellness Platform Coordinator.
Rosa’s connection to MAWOCC reflects what this coalition is built to create: spaces where women of color can feel seen, supported, and connected to community.
Through her involvement with the Health & Wellness platform, Rosa continues to carry forward work rooted in healing, care, and the well-being of women of color across Massachusetts.
This is community in action.
This is MAWOCC.
MAWOCC was built from a clear need: a space created specifically for women of color to come together, be supported, and move with collective power.
From the beginning, the vision was never to work in silos. It was to create a coalition where women of color across the Commonwealth could come as they are, access support and resources, and be part of a broader movement for change.
Because when women of color come together, the work becomes stronger.
This is the foundation of MAWOCC.

Congratulations to the ILA-GOC 2nd Cohort graduates!
MAWOCC is proud to celebrate this moment with the girls, mentors, families, and community members who made this cohort so meaningful.
Through the Intergenerational Leadership Academy – Girls of Color Program, participants had the opportunity to build confidence, deepen their leadership, connect across generations, and be surrounded by women who believe in their voice and future.
To our graduates: we are proud of your growth, your leadership, and everything you will continue to carry forward.
MAWOCC began with a vision: to create a global movement and a space for women of color.
What started through conversations, lived experience, and the shared belief that women of color needed a space of our own became a grassroots coalition built by strong, committed women across Worcester, Boston, Springfield, and beyond.
That foundation still guides the work today.
A movement built by women of color, for women of color.
