❗️UPDATE❗️

At the beginning of this year I made a personal vow to find who I am again. After becoming a mom, I’ve poured everything I’ve had in me into my children. In doing so, I’ve completely lost who I was. It can be so confusing when you look at yourself and see a stranger in the mirror.

I’ve spoke with God and asked him to help me. Help me be me again to be happy and at peace. In doing so, I changed the name of this business. I changed it to “Based on Faith” because I felt compelled to share my story and help people become followers in Christ. I felt like I had to give certain things up in doing so, which made me lose even more of myself. These things were things like horror movies, true crime, spooky and macabre things. However, I’ve realized that’s not the case. I prayed to God for an answer, and for what he wanted me to do. And this is it.

My husband and I have been having conversations about this because I’ve been so torn. I told him “I don’t want to give up my spooky/goth side. But I don’t want to be seen as bad or doing something wrong”. He looked at me and asked me a couple questions.

1.) When you watch horror movies or true crime, does it make you want to go out and do those bad things too? Do you want to go out and hurt people or conjure up spirits?
2.) Do you feel like God is judging you when you do those things?
3.)Or do you feel like others are judging you when you do those things?

I answered “no” to the first two, but answered “yes” to the third. That’s when I realized the reason I felt that way was because there was nobody else like me. No one to advocate for the followers of Christ who are a little different but don’t fit the “form” that is “expected” of us. God didn’t make that form because God accepts all who accept him. I am here to be that voice to show you can still be you. That’s why I put this message on the back of my new business cards.

I believe that I am here to have this business to be there for all the people who feel like they can’t follow Christ, or feel like they don’t fit in anywhere because they are a follower but are also different. For the people who like spooky, macabre, horror, or true crime.

So welcome to “Ghouls and Grace”. Where you can follow Christ in the way he wanted all along, just being yourself.
