After months of letting her hair grow out untouched, my client came in craving a refresh that would instantly brighten her face without feeling high-maintenance. She wanted something soft, natural, and "lived in"—not a stark, obvious color change, but a subtle glow that worked with her lifestyle. We opted for a gentle balayage, painting in soft ribbons of warmth that catch the light beautifully, while keeping her rich natural base as the anchor for contrast✨

To give my client low-maintenance, lived-in color that grows out seamlessly, I blended a mix of fine baby lights and chunky ribbons, using a heavy weave and a teasing technique to create a soft, diffused root. I placed the brightest pieces strategically around the face and on the ends, while keeping the midsection darker to act as a natural buffer against regrowth. The goal was to craft a sun-kissed effect with no harsh lines, ensuring the highlights transition naturally as her hair grows, so she won’t feel the need to book her next appointment for at least three to four months.
