It is days like this when one really needs to simply be in nature. For me, it is the opportunity for reflection, a time to think or a time to gather your thoughts.

How do you enjoy nature?

I have a weird love and hate relationship with this serum that Iโ€™m going to share in this review!

Before I get into that let me share why I loved the serum.

๐Ÿค๐Ÿค๐Ÿค

I really found it helpful with acne and PIE, as it brightened the skin and helped tame some breakouts that I had. I also found that the overall condition of my skin improved as the oatmeal, aloe and other nourishing ingredients were loved and improved my skin barrier.

I actually found it more effective when using it alongside my differin and antibiotics journey. I think it helped fast pace the healing and recovery aspect of my breakouts, especially the cysts that I get. I will admit I had to do some research into whether it was safe to use with differin, and even when I found out it was, I now try to use it at least twice a week.

Now letโ€™s get into the moments of hate.

โŒโŒโŒ

I used the serum last night and I had a bit of a tingling/ burning sensation that did last a bit longer than it does normally. Especially around the upper cheek and lip area. When applying the moisturiser it just reinforced that sensation. Within 10 mins the sensation did go away and I did awake to the breakouts on the left side of my face being less red and sore as they were before. So part of me is thinking if itโ€™s my differin peaked skin that was reacting to that.

Other times itโ€™s been just the tingling sensation and itchiness that has been slightly annoying after application, but manageable as it went away quickly.

I definitely did prefer this to the Ordinary Azelaic suspension that I used a while back, that just massively irritated my skin and caused me to break out. My skin reacted nicely to the ingredients and it was nourishing too which I enjoyed.

Conclusion:
4/5
I did really like this and I do believe that it works well, the only reason why I didnโ€™t give it more points is because of the drawbacks I mentioned above.

What did you think of this? It would also be good to hear if any alternatives to this too?

Despite the acne, despite the scarring and despite the uneven skin texture. I am blessed to have this body that houses who I am. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

I could have edited out the bumps and scarring on my arms and back but I chose not to. Real skin isnโ€™t flawless, smooth and perfect. Real skin is imperfectly perfect.๐Ÿค

There comes a time where as the love for our body grows, the body begins to heal, and we see ourselves in a newfound and lasting beauty that has always been there but needed us to dig deep in order to truly find.

Whenever I feel myself getting sucked into the narrative of self doubt due to skin, I send love to myself and remind myself that my skin is going through its journey, but it doesnโ€™t define the person I am.

On another note, I tried eye makeup for the first time in over a year, not that bad of an attempt but your girl could really use some improvements. What are your eye makeup tips and tricks?

Isnโ€™t it just satisfying when you finish a product?

This months empties have only consisted of three products. I actually think there were more but I didnโ€™t keep the bottles? ๐Ÿค” Not entirely sure, so these three it is.

โ—ฝ๏ธ black snail restore serum
I actually really liked this, itโ€™s a great snail serum that helped with barrier health, acne scarring and provided general moisture for the skin. I think I would get this one full size for that very reason. The texture is slightly more runny than the cosrx snail mucin, which I actually really liked as it make applying a lot easier.

โ—ฝ๏ธ centella green level buffet serum
Again this was something my skin really liked too, it was a great calming and soothing serum that helped my skin. Only downside for this was that it did have fragrance in it which I was weary of when applying, but my skin seemed okay with it so I may just repurchase a bigger bottle if there is no unscented version of this

โ–ซ๏ธ blemish ampoule.
My skin really liked this, especially those acne and blemishes that were being a bit stubborn, this helped with some of those and helped reduce those extra stubborn ones. Only thing is the packaging is a bit difficult, I find the dropper is too narrow for the consistency of the serum which means it basically doesnโ€™t pick up much of the serum in the dropper. So trying to use it was a bit of a nightmare but again my skin loved it.

This was a quick mini review on these empties. But hopefully I will have more next month.

But have you tried any of these? If so what did you think of them too?

Happy Thursday all! ๐Ÿค

I am going to be reviewing the AC collection blemish clearing serum

This product is a multifunction serum for acne care and skin recovery that has three main functions:
โ–ซ๏ธCalming active breakouts and red spots
โ–ซ๏ธClearing active acne and dark spots
โ–ซ๏ธRecovering scarring and uneven skin texture

It has luscious skin nurturing ingredients such as a formulated CentellRX complex, niacinamide, EFG, tea tree, propolis and more - all ingredients that my acne prone skin is loving. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Ever since Iโ€™ve started using this, Iโ€™ve noticed the general health of my skin improving nicely especially after a nasty breakout that was taking its sweet sweeet saweeet time to heal. Sometimes the post acne heal is the longest heal of them all and I found actually adding products like this to my routine really does help.

The main thing I discovered was the importance of barrier repair and health. When the skin breaks out, your skin barrier essentially becomes compromised which can actually lead to further breakouts. This product not only helps to soothe acne, but it helps restore the health of the barrier and provide the environment your skin needs to heal.

I will definitely repurchase this serum again as I just absolutely loved it. If only they did this in a bigger size/ bottle?

Have you tried this serum?

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how much product give in these minis?

Itโ€™s such a good amount that you can really make a concrete decision on whether the product is for you or not.

Having completely used and emptied the propolis toner, I can say that this toner is one that I will purchase full size. It is super hydrating, moisturising and leaves the skin feeling soft and plump, and is a good go to base when my skin needs some love.

I am still working through the AHA/BHA/Vit C toner, but so far Iโ€™ve loved how gentle it is. Seeing as my skin loved the cosrx clarifying toner, I expect nothing less of this mini either.

Have you tried any of these?

As you know I got a new haircut yesterday which I am so happy about. But most importantly, happy to see (for which my hairdresser too confirmed) the good health and condition of my hair.

My haircare journey has been one of patience, time, care and moisture. And it all began with me making the executive life decision to chop off my hair dyed, damaged and brittle hair myself last year.

After that. Not only was my hair short, but it seemed to be falling out quite a bit. I was also doing the curly girl hair method at the time because my hair is naturally curly.

When I made the connection that the curly girl hair and my hair werenโ€™t working out at that time. I dumped the idea and looked at ways to help my hair.

Currently this is what I use on my hair:

Prewash (I wash my hair once a week)
๐Ÿ’ซAmla and castor oil overnight (once a week)
๐Ÿ’ซ salicylic scalp exfoliator 10 mins before wash

During wash:
๐Ÿ’ซ normacare shampoo and conditioner
๐Ÿ’ซ hair mask (when needed)

Post wash:
๐Ÿ’ซ leave in conditioner (when needed)
๐Ÿ’ซ hair oil / Jojoba hair oil

Styling (whenever I do it)
๐Ÿ’ซ the wizard detangling primer
๐Ÿ’ซ Brooklyn bombshell

During the week: (I havenโ€™t done this as much recently ๐Ÿ™ˆ)
๐Ÿ’ซ vitamin C serum (once or twice a week)
๐Ÿ’ซ hair growth serum (every other day)
๐Ÿ’ซ hair oil/ jojoba hair oil (on ends when it looked dry)

So far I have felt these things have worked, but although my hair may be healthy, it is still on its journey. I still have some frizz to tackle which the hairdresser recommended some things for too, which I would like to try. Also, as some of my items are running out too, I will be incorporating some newbies I recently purchased into my routine too.

Whatโ€™s your haircare journey like?
