Most women are taking ashwagandha at the wrong time of day.
Not because it’s bad. Because the dose was only half.
Here’s what the famous studies never put on the label:
The trial that built ashwagandha’s reputation — Chandrasekhar et al., 2012 — dosed it twice. 300 mg with breakfast. 300 mg with dinner. Sixty days. The result: a 27.9% drop in serum cortisol.
But most of us take a single capsule at night, hoping it’ll knock us out. That’s the sleep dose. It’s not the cortisol dose.
Cortisol peaks 30 to 45 minutes after you wake. That’s the spike that turns into “tired but wired” by 9 a.m., the jaw clench by noon, the racing thoughts at 11 p.m. If you only meet it at bedtime, you’ve already lived a full day inside it.
The fix isn’t more — it’s earlier. Pair the evening dose with a morning one. Steady, not sedating. The way the science was actually run.
Sakoon’s 6-in-1 Stress Relief Gummies were built to be taken either time: ashwagandha + L-theanine + GABA + chamomile + lemon balm. Calming enough for evening. Steady enough for morning.

30mg of saffron daily halved PMS symptoms in 76% of women.
Placebo did it in 8%.
That's not a vibes study. That's a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial published in BJOG — one of the most cited obstetrics journals in the world (Agha-Hosseini et al., 2008).
50 women. Two menstrual cycles. 15mg saffron in the morning, 15mg at night. By cycle two, three out of four women had cut their PMS symptoms by at least half. The placebo group? Eight percent.
Saffron isn't doing anything mystical. It modulates the same serotonin pathway that SSRIs target — which is why a follow-up RCT (Iran Red Crescent Medical Journal, 2018) found 30mg of saffron held its own against 20mg of fluoxetine for PMDD, with fewer side effects.
For generations, our grandmothers stirred a few threads into warm milk for "mood." It wasn't superstition. They were ahead of the science.
Our Saffron+ Mood Gummies are built around 30mg of standardized saffron extract — paired with rhodiola, B6, and L-theanine for the days your body needs more than a single thread.

Magnesium oxide is in most supplements.
Your body absorbs just 4% of it.
There’s a small landmark study from 2001 — Firoz and Graber, published in Magnesium Research — that quietly settled an argument the supplement aisle has been losing ever since: not all magnesium is created equal.
They tested four forms in human volunteers and measured how much actually made it through. Magnesium oxide — the cheap, dense form that fills most labels because it lets brands print “500 mg of magnesium” without bulking up the pill — came in at 4% fractional absorption. Magnesium chloride, lactate, and aspartate landed several times higher.
Later research extended the pattern. Magnesium citrate tested better than oxide in a 2003 RCT (Walker et al.). Magnesium glycinate is consistently the gentlest on the gut and the most calming — glycine itself is an inhibitory neurotransmitter, which is part of why glycinate has become the go-to for sleep and anxious nights. Magnesium malate gets pulled in for muscle ache and daytime energy.
So when a label just says “Magnesium 500 mg” with no form named — assume oxide. That 500 is closer to 20 in your bloodstream.
What to look for instead: glycinate, citrate, malate, or L-threonate, named explicitly on the supplement facts panel.
Our 9-in-1 Magnesium Gummies were built around this distinction. The 200 mg blend is glycinate + citrate + malate — the three forms with the science behind them — with chamomile, lavender, and L-theanine layered in for the nighttime ritual. No oxide. No filler math.

30mg of saffron extract matched 20mg of fluoxetine for major depression.
Without the side effects.
Six randomized controlled trials say it. Same antidepressant signal as one of the most-prescribed SSRIs in the world — without the GI flare, weight gain, sexual side effects, or “zombie” plateau most women on SSRIs end up googling at 2am.
Saffron has been in our spice drawer for a thousand years. Iranian and South Asian medicine has been using it for mood since long before the trial protocol caught up.
This isn’t a swap for psychiatric care if you need it. But if you’re holding it together with caffeine and willpower, 30mg twice a day is a real conversation to have with your doctor.

“I’m fine” is a sentence.
Not a state.
We were taught — culturally, generationally, quietly — to swallow it. Push through. Keep the peace. Smile at the aunty.
But your body is keeping the receipt.
Researchers call it allostatic load: the cumulative wear of chronic stress on the nervous system. The price your body quietly pays each time you stay “fine” instead of feeling.
The data is sobering.
↳ Habitual emotional suppression flattens your daily cortisol curve — a marker of chronic stress (Trait Emotion Regulation, 2018).
↳ It’s been linked to higher all-cause and cardiovascular mortality across a 12-year follow-up (Chapman et al., 2013).
↳ South Asian women, in particular, carry a compounded load — immigration, caregiving, cultural silence — with measurable health consequences (CV Risk in South Asian Diaspora, 2024).
Your body files what your mouth won’t. Jaw. Gut. Breath. Sleep. Skin.
So here are three small returns to yourself today. Not productivity hacks. Permissions.
01. Name it. Specificity is regulation.
02. Exhale longer than you inhale. 4 in, 6 out, sixty seconds.
03. Hydrate before chai. Cortisol peaks first; water gets the first word.
Peace isn’t a pill. It’s a practice.
Save this for the next time you almost said “I’m fine.”

1 in 3 women live with persistent anxiety, low mood, or burnout.
The standard answer is a prescription. Ours is a practice.
Sakoon — سکون — is the Urdu word for a deep, abiding peace. The kind that arrives quietly, in the small things you do every day, long before any pill takes effect.
This carousel is the practice. Seven rituals our grandmothers knew, now backed by the kind of research women’s mental health has been waiting for.
Breath. Two short inhales, one long exhale. Stanford found five minutes a day lowered anxiety more than meditation.
Plants. 30mg of saffron extract matched fluoxetine for PMDD — with fewer side effects.
Light. Ten minutes of morning sun anchors your circadian rhythm. Better mood by day, real sleep by night.
Movement. Five minutes of shaking, walking, stretching to metabolize circulating cortisol.
Warmth. The evening cup of haldi doodh — turmeric, ginger, cardamom, a single thread of saffron. The ritual itself is the medicine.
We built four gummies for the days the rituals need backup —
Saffron+ Mood. For the plants ritual.
6-in-1 Stress Relief. For the breath ritual.
D3+K2 + Black Seed. For the cloudy days.
9-in-1 Magnesium. For the evening wind-down.
Halal. Vegan. Sugar-free. Always.
Save this for the next overwhelming Tuesday. Send it to the friend you keep meaning to check on.
