" My heart got filled with emotions when I saw Dr Kamal Saleem page. My daughter was 8 months old when she got operated by him in AFIC for TAPVR. She is perfectly fine since then. She is a shining star of her school. Mashallah 13.5 years old doing well in her life that we have forgotten what she went through. I remember when I entered Dr sahab room to consult and at that very moment made me decide him to choose him our daughter's surgeon. He did her surgery and Allah was kind. Alhamdilulilah. Sir we are forever indebted. Every breath that she takes has become a source of prayers for you.

This young lady today took me by surprise. 12-13 yrs old now had PA BAND at 2.5 months of age, BDG in 2015 and completion FONTAN in 2018. She is fully active, symptoms free and living a healthy happy life. God be with her

Recently (discharged few days back) operated a 20 yrs old boy with very severe coarctation of Aorta (almost atretic coarct segment with failed attempts at ballooning and stenting) it was very challenging due to large collaterals and intercostal arteries. It took almost 6-7 hrs to complete the repair (end to end anastomosis with resection of coarcted segment)
Interesting thing was that there was An anomalous artery arising from the back of the aorta going upward ( Abbott artery). it needed special handling and eventually needed ligation of the vessel. Any how the results were better than my expectations a gradient of only 20-25mmHg.

I really wanted to make this post a month later after completing 100 open heart pediatric cardiac surgeries for Chief minister heart surgery program in Punjab, but due to some interruption, I am sharing the figures of the last three months when we at Bahria hospital Rawalpindi did around 80 cases with outstanding results. Unfortunately due to non pay,ent to the hospital by punjab govt we have temporarily stopped the surgeries as the vendors are not willing to give us the supplies on loan any more.
A perfectly well executed program (much better organised then the Sehat card program for which, I operated around 350 cases ) with enormous benefit to the poor families suffering due to usual bureaucratic nonesense and laziness bringing bad name to Chief minister and Govt. Anyhow I still feel very satisfied and happy that All mighty provided me with the opportunity to be of use to these 80 odd families. I am quite hopeful that things will be on track again in few days.
The whole team worked really hard and I am really thankful and appreciative of everyone’s effort and support

Probably my earliest independent open heart surgeries were done in mid 1990,s. So Sardar Anjum is one of my oldest patients and friends. Underwent Mitral and Aortic valve replacement. Very particular about his medication specially Warfarin which is a blood thinner to avoid clots on the valve. So far has trouble free life and is expected to live a normal life even with Two Valve replacement if you take care

After Allah, I thank Dr. Kamal Saleem who operated on my daughter(Aroosh Ch from Mirpur AJK)and saved us from fear and tension.

A pretty young angel. Still little upset with me after heart surgery but I am sure with time she will be a friend too
