9 months ago I shared this video that went viral. Within a week I gained 10,000 followers and saw the video shared dozens of times. Pretty neat. A few unexpected things that came with the viral vid. 1.Immediately following the share, the notifications and message page become useless. Completely overwhelmed by dm’s/likes/follows it’s impossible to navigate. 🤷🏼♂️ 2.With the sudden growth, people/brands assume you bought your followers. Not a big deal until you try to price the worth of an account. Then you have to explain the quick spike. 🤦🏼♀️ 3.New followers expect to ONLY see some aspect of that video in all following posts. When they don’t they send less than cordial DM’s demanding content to get back on track. 😂 I’ll be honest, it’s been weird. I’ve found that with a new, wider audience I feel an odd pressure, and with it a disconnection. Am I supposed to treat this like a business, and if so, delete all previous less liked posts that lowers my overall market value? Am I supposed to just post motorcycles and attempt some form of viral quality post by pandering to the attention span of the common social media user? In short, no. Motorcycles are certainly a part of my experience, but to assume motorcycles are my only defining quality would be a bit boring. I’m like a gosh dang onion of personality! Many many layers. What I’m left with is a question. Do I want to continue down the path of trying to reconcile my connection to the core audience(read as friends) that supported my content however I liked sharing it? And further more, why? And equally you’re left with a question. Is Sam posting this because he wants to express himself and share his internal dialogue to live open and honestly to further connect with the world around him? Or, is this just a clever excuse to post a video that will guarantee likes and shares… LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENT SECTION BELOW 👇🏽 ⬇️ 👇🏽 AND DON’T FORGET TO LIKE AND SHARE!!! 😝😂😝😂 JK!!!! Life’s weird guys, you can’t control much outside yourself. So like always, stay brave and remember you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be doing exactly what you’re supposed to doing right now. ❤️
