Hello dear contact people! This evening we have plans to meet Feldenkraiz method:). And integrate it to our contact impro dance. This is very deep experience, and I am waiting for today evening a lot to share with his with you! Small movements with full concentration on feeling in a body, on small details, space where we can breathe out and observe our movements, experience details, where we give qualitative food to our nervous system.

Welcome to a block of contact improvisation classes in Porto. We plan 3 classes and final jam. Classes happens each Friday starting 29.09.2023, at 20:30-22:30, Jam on Sunday 15.10.2030, facilitating by Mariia Ivanova. This block of classes and jam, with a shorten name: "In C. I.", would be great for people who are beginners and for those who dance for a years. We can look and taste contact improvisation from very different sides and experience this. I want to share some ideas which we will taste on 2h classes and integrate to our movement.

Here is short description of classes:

29.09.2023 20:30 - Contact impro dance as a dialog, which starts from the idea of solo dance as monologue. As a focus on a dialogue, it gives our dance space, where we can listen and talk in a dance-body way. Together with this we play a bit with recognizing bones and muscles structure inside our own body and in a movement with a partner and play around it.

6.10.2023 20:30 - From Feldenkrais to contact: I love Feldenkrais method a lot, it gives the possibility to investigate small connections inside a body, to go deeper to very simple things. To teach our nervous system a new experience. Integration of this experience to contact dance is something that I want you to try. This experience gave me a really deep understanding of some basic principles which I never thought about before. We try to look at some basic contact techniques with a new point of view and taste it.

13.10.2023 20:30 - Boundary positions or Unstable moments in a dance. A moment where we usually don't focus on a movement, places where we don't notices abilities but just run and jump away from instability. Those places actually gives a huge possibility for improvisation. Improvisation in the contact, not being limited by patterns. We integrate this experience in lifting processes inside dance. Weights sharing and liftings which are not separated from a dance but are part of the contact exploration.

Hello and welcome tomorrow! We have contact improvisation second workshop from introduction journey, and beginners are very welcomed to try this kind of dancing practice. If you want to try than it's great place. Later we may gather a group for beginners course :)

Welcome to a workshop, where we will experience movement time through dance, as a practice of body consciousness and dynamic meditation. My aim is to let you to perceive the dance of your body as something that is happening with you, not a set of rules dictated by your mind, such as "good" or "bad". It is a gift from the present moment, and I invite you to embrace it fully.
You don't need to be a dancer or professional artist, you can move and breathe - let it become your dance. During the workshop, we will create a delicate and safe space where you can move, enjoy, and focus your attention on your body. The practice is based on dance-movement therapy and body-mind practices.

Authentic Movement is a form of somatic or body-based practice that involves moving with mindfulness, intention, and self-awareness. It is often used in dance and movement therapy, but can also be practiced as a standalone form of personal exploration and expression.
