THE JOURNEY OF LATE HON. SALVATORE GARANG MABIORDIT WOL COMES TO AN END

KUAJOK — The long journey of the Late Hon. Salvatore Garang Mabiordit has finally come to an end.

His body was laid to rest at his residence in Wartiit, Block 9, Kuajok on Thursday, 27th August 2026 at 6:17 PM.

The remains traveled from Juba through Wau, and across several communities including Tharkueng, Yieth-Liet, Wunkuel, Lukluk and Angui, where mourners gathered to pay final respects.

In Juba, he was seen off by the 4 Vice Presidents, national ministers, governors, and MPs.
The body was accompanied to Warrap by Hon. Albino Akol Atak, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs.
In Wau, it was received by the WBeG State Government and escorted by Warrap State Acting Governor H.E. Aluel Garang.

Before burial, prayers were held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kuajok.

Hon. Minister Akol Atak received the convoy and met with Western Bahr el Ghazal State Governor, Hon. Sharif at the airport.

Government officials, family members, and mourners were present to receive the late leader ahead of final burial rites in Kuajok.

Hon Salvatore Garang Mabiordit is a government official who previously served three times in the ministry of Finance and Planning, Republic of South Sudan

The untimely death of Hon Salvatore Garang Mabiordit has shed tears to family, friends and distinguished South Sudanese who came across him through his service

Mourners, family members, and leaders have gathered to receive the body of the late former Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Salvatore Garang Mabiordit, as it travels toward Kuajok for final funeral rites and burial.

Final rite at Stops along the convoy route include traditional community landmarks before arrival at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kuajok for prayers and final respects, followed by his burial at the family home in Wartiit.
