Samantha wanted a change up for summer time! We typically keep her hair long with shorter face framing pieces (PS. Her last haircut was 7 months ago — check out that grow out 😉).

This time we did a summer chop and no bleach highlights that compliment her skin, are little to no maintenance, and kept the health of her curls intact.

Not everyone is a candidate for this type of highlighting, but it’s definitely one of my favorites for all of those reasons ✨

Teryn is always down for anything with her hair. Her last few appointments she has let me have complete creative freedom of her hair and I’m so thankful for that trust. This go round, we went shorter with a TON of volume. She needed something as bright and fun as she is 🤩 her reaction and smile after this transformation was everything and more 🥰

What does maintenance look like for a curly cut? 🧐

For Kasady, it looks like 2 haircuts per year! Kasady maintains her hair at home by using recommended products, little to no straightening, choosing a cut that promotes longevity, and not coloring her hair. All of these factors can affect how often a haircut is needed or wanted. The before photo shows her 6 month grow-out from August of last year.

How do Lyric’s curls look so hydrated and healthy? Water is your curl’s best friend. 💧

Not oil.
Not cream.
Not gel.

If your hair isn’t properly hydrated, then styling becomes more difficult, curls don’t last as long, and frizzy hair happens on day 1. The secret is water🚿

Rashell has been coming to me since the beginning of my career 3 years ago! Since then we have collaborated on the maintenance and health of her curls. Jenna requested hair with “excitement” to it, to match her energy and personality. Her inspo photos were a combination of wolf cuts, curly cuts, and heavy layering. Together we created a lived in look on her curls that is big, free flowing and has plenty of excitement.

Maya has been cutting her own hair since 2020. She expressed concerns about trusting another person to cut her hair because she has been let down by professionals in the past. At her appointment, we focused on corrective cutting. The goal was to blend her existing face frame, add layering in the back, and eliminate all split ends to create a healthy environment for longer, fuller hair. Seeing the confidence Maya had when she walked out is why I truly love what I do.
