🇹🇭 WSO Global Voices – Thailand
A journey through the experiences and visions of our Ambassadors around the world

Today we meet Kate Setthakorn, Ambassador of the World Spa Organization for Thailand 🇹🇭

Kate Setthakorn is Executive Managing Director and senior teacher at ITM – International Training Massage School. Certified as a Master Trainer in Thai Massage by the Thai Ministry of Labor, she is a key representative of Thai massage, wellness and Spa education. ✨

🌿 “Thailand is one of the world’s most iconic wellness destinations, known for its unique blend of hospitality, spirituality, traditional massage and holistic wellbeing.

Thai Massage is not only a technique, but a cultural heritage connected to energy balance, mindfulness and human connection. In Chiang Mai and Northern Thailand, this tradition is still preserved through schools, temples and professional training centers that continue to transmit knowledge with discipline and respect.

Another distinctive element is the Lanna wellness culture, where herbal therapies, traditional rituals, steam practices and bodywork techniques inspire authentic Spa experiences. This heritage gives Thai wellness a very recognizable identity, rooted in care, presence and harmony.

At the same time, Thailand has become a global benchmark for wellness tourism. From luxury resorts to urban Spas and retreat destinations, the country has learned how to transform traditional healing arts into professional guest experiences appreciated by visitors from all over the world.

Today, Thailand is evolving toward a new generation of wellness concepts that combine traditional Thai healing, luxury hospitality, modern Spa management and Medical Wellness. This balance between ancient knowledge and contemporary standards is one of the country’s greatest strengths.

Looking ahead, Thailand will continue to play a leading role in the global wellness industry through education, professional training, service culture and the preservation of traditional knowledge.

International collaboration is essential to keep these traditions alive, protect their authenticity and share their value with the global Spa community. A model where education becomes the bridge between culture, quality and future innovation.” ✨

🇸🇰 WSO Global Voices – Slovakia
A journey through the experiences and visions of our Ambassadors around the world

Today we meet Anna Jarinova, Ambassador of the World Spa Organization for Slovakia 🇸🇰

Anna Jarinova is a recognized leader in the Spa industry, with extensive experience in Spa management, wellness development and signature treatment concepts. Throughout her career, she has successfully led advanced Spa facilities and contributed to innovative wellness experiences, award-winning Spa design concepts and distinctive Spa treatment lines. ✨

🌿 “Slovakia is one of Europe’s hidden Spa treasures. The country has a remarkable thermal and balneological heritage, with more than 1,600 mineral springs and a strong culture of therapeutic Spa towns.

Piešťany, one of the most famous Spa destinations in Slovakia, is internationally known for its thermal mineral waters and therapeutic sulphuric mud, used in treatments focused on rehabilitation, mobility and regeneration.

But the Slovak Spa identity goes far beyond one destination. Trenčianske Teplice, Bardejov, Dudince, Bojnice and Rajecké Teplice all contribute to a rich wellness map where medical traditions, mineral waters, architecture and nature are deeply connected.

What makes Slovakia especially interesting today is the way historical Spa culture is being reinterpreted for contemporary guests. Traditional healing resources are increasingly combined with design, hospitality, signature rituals and more personalized wellness journeys.

Another distinctive element is the relationship between wellness and landscape. Mountains, forests, thermal springs and small historical towns create a calm and authentic atmosphere, very different from more commercial wellness destinations.

Looking ahead, Slovakia has the opportunity to position itself as a refined European destination where therapeutic heritage, nature and modern Spa management come together in a credible and distinctive way.

International collaboration can help strengthen this evolution, connecting local excellence with global standards while preserving the authenticity of Slovak Spa culture.” ✨

Eglė Rukšėnaitė is a leading figure in Northern European wellness hospitality, with over 20 years of experience in developing medical and Spa projects across Europe. She has contributed to the creation of large-scale hotel and Spa concepts, with a strong focus on sustainability, quality and measurable wellbeing. ✨

🌿 “The Baltic region is emerging as one of the most dynamic and promising areas in Europe for the development of wellness hospitality. Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are building a distinctive identity that combines nature, innovation and structured wellness models.

One of the most interesting aspects is the strong connection with the environment. Forests, lakes, clean air and seasonal rhythms are not just a backdrop, but an integral part of the wellness experience. Sustainability is also a central pillar. In the Baltic countries, there is a deep cultural respect for nature, which translates into responsible Spa design, energy efficiency and conscious resource management.

A particularly interesting concept is that of subtle luxury – a refined and essential form of luxury, where the focus is on authenticity, silence, space and emotional quality rather than excess.
