When there is research in your field on helping people improve their lives you get excited and as involved as you can!!!
Please share with anyone who may fit the criteria.
We are currently recruiting for an exciting new study that seeks to determine if taking a more 'yogic' approach to exercise in people with knee osteoarthritis, improves the ability to modulate pain. It is an in person study being held at McMaster. Please share with anyone who might benefit.

More than anything this New Year refine the following:
What is working? What is not working? What has worked before? What hasn’t worked before?
This past year was one of the toughest; losing a friend, family member and a family friend to unexpected deaths alongside completing a major certification (over 800hrs), online school for the kids and a big fall on the ice on my hip/back.
You know what didn’t work for me this year? Pushing myself through exercise. It felt completely draining, my nervous system felt threatened….it was an entirely different experience than I’ve ever experienced.
What worked? Rest, gentle movement, meaningful connections with friends, nature and movement that brings joy.
Did I gain weight? Yup sure did! Do I care? Of course I do. But more than anything I gave myself compassion. I trust in myself to intuitively move in the direction I want to go when I’m ready. Until then building trust within myself, guided by my body and it’s response to the different things I try.
So what’s with the picture? Well….our salt cell in our hot tub wasn’t working. I tried cleaning it, refilling the tub, resetting it and it still didn’t work. We replaced it not that long ago and it was pricey….so…it wasn’t working for us.
I ordered the parts, and took the cell out and switched to bromine. I do enjoy fixing things, I’m actually pretty good at it!
Things not people….I empower people to recognize and guide them to how their movement works for them and how it doesn’t work for them so they can move with more freedom and ease.
AND I believe my experience this year only helps me guide people with more compassion and understanding than ever before.
I’m excited to bring you more offers this year, some of the same too!
Let’s keep building trust within ourselves, aligning body mind and soul, for a truly connected 2022!
Happy New Year!

A neighbour stopped and asked me ‘why do all this work? Why not take it to the shop?’
My answer ‘it feels good to do it, plus I cant just tell her she can do anything….(pointing at my youngest), I have to show her).
It feels good to move my body in a ‘get it done’ kind of way.
But I also know if I didnt have proper breathing, body mechanics or the right tools and heal properly from my hip/back and pelvic floor earlier this year…this wouldn’t have been possible. I wouldn’t be able to pick up the tires and put them on the SUV or sedan, or stack the summer tires in the shed.
Healing is possible and strength doesn’t always come from lifting weights. Goals don’t always have to do with personal bests either! And sometimes it takes a approach to healing.
thanks for your help with healing from my fall and pelvic floor.
I still have room in my back pain yoga therapy group starting this Wednesday night, link in bio or message me is easiest.

How many of you use your seat heaters for relief instead of warmth? 🖐 post a hand if that is you!
While it’s a great tool, is it solving the pain problem?
If you’re using it, that means you’ve probably realized it helps.
Imagine if you had some movement and breath that helped just as much? Would you use it?
What if I told you that we would design a program just for you to fix the problem?
Send me a message if you’re serious about fixing your back pain.

Very interesting….would love to hear your thoughts?
When you have added strength training and mindfulness, specifically ones that focus on the mind body connection do you feel less anxious?
I’m also excited to see the research on the mechanism for the ear to stimulate the vagus nerve. I often use the same principle in some of my classes and my own practice.
Interoception: The Hidden Sense That Shapes Wellbeing There’s growing evidence that signals sent from our internal organs to the brain play a major role in regulating emotions and fending off anxiety and depression.
