Loving this result for my aunty Gwen from our lesson - which her sister actually came along to, too - so we combined 2 lessons in 1! 💘💘

Gwen loves makeup and I have always seen her wearing her fave Esteelauder doublewear! Since their reformulation, she’s switched to their new foundation, which we used here! She’s found the finish of the reformulation a little different, and not as matte as the original - but wanted to try out a dewier complexion. Her current routine consists of foundation & powder - no bronzer, blush or highlighter, so I wanted to show her how to use that to make her features pop and bring back structure to the face!

She also wanted to learn how to create an easy, bronzed smokey eye, and picked out a perfect inspo pic to recreate. Opting for a halo-eye is great at creating the illusion of a more deepset and rounded eyelid, especially if your eyes are more hooded and it means the structure of the shadow doesn’t disappear when the eyes are open. It’s also one of the easiest eyeshadow looks to recreate in terms of application and technique - so she will have no problem when trying this out again!

Was such a fun lesson with her and her sister (not to mention super long!) but they finished off the lesson with some prosecco before heading out for more cocktails (as they should) 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

From Marion’s 1:1 Lesson 🤍

Photos from Looks by Poppy's post 23/03/2026

A really lovely lesson with Marion, where it's not just the result - it's the feeling 🤍

Absolutely loved meeting Marion and helping her refresh her love for makeup. It was clear as soon as I met her, that this lady knew EXACTLY what her colour palette was.

I could see it in her clothes, jewellery and accessories. She then revealed to me that she had her colours done at House of Colour - and carried a little wallet of all her complimentary colours, customised to her. She also had a small collection of makeup from there too, specifically some lip liners, brow pencils and lip products - so we included these all in our lesson so she knew exactly how to use them.

Here are the main things we focused on:

⭐️ Rekindling a love for makeup and feeling
more like herself
⭐️ Relearning how to use your own products
⭐️ Learning what products you *need* and don't *need*
⭐️ Realistic, easy and comfortable makeup
that looks/feels natural

This was such a special one, and something I think so many women can relate to!

Makeup doesn't have to be overwhelming, filled with products and techniques that you feel pressured to buy/try. It should be simple, therapeutic and encourage you to put time back into yourself.

If this is something you can relate to - please DM me and we can discuss building back your relationship with makeup. 🤍

Sams results from our 1:1 lesson 🤍

Was so lovely to meet with sam the other week - one of my upcoming May brides! She wanted to go ahead with a lesson to discuss some new makeup techniques! We created 2 looks (which most people have been asking for!) firstly creating a simple every day makeup - then added to for an evening look.

Every day makeup: Pic 3/4
Evening makeup: Pic 1/2

Here are some things we focused on:

⭐️ Her skincare routine and what to incorporate before her wedding day
⭐️ Her skin tone and complimentary colours
⭐️ Product placement
⭐️ Making the eyes appear larger and incorporating a lash curler
⭐️ Preferred lip colours and creating a natural, defined lip
⭐️ Eyeshadow placement
⭐️ Learning which products to avoid

Sam has such amazing lashes I wanted to show what a difference a lash curler can do for the eyes, to make them appear brighter and more open. Lash curlers are great once you get the hang of them - or opting for a lash lift if you struggle with it!

Getting to know sams skin before her trial and wedding day was great, as it’s helped us determine what products to use in both, allowing for a perfected look with no troubles on the day!
To specify, we’re opting for tubing mascara (not just waterproof), a less emollient liner on the lash line, and baking the eyeshadow with powder to minimise transfer - all things learnt throughout the lesson and will benefit her on the day!

Such great results and can’t wait for her bridal trial!

Creating KT’s everyday wearable cat eye 🐈‍⬛

Using mainly Trinny London - a staple in her makeup bag!

Her main concerns were:

⭐️ Creating a skin-like, glowy base
⭐️ Using shadow instead of eyeliner
⭐️ Making the lashes appear thicker and fuller

We both love TRINNY LONDON, her products are amazing for creating a super natural base that still looks like skin. What’s even better are her products are stackable! Great for keeping together in your makeup bag, or professional kit 💘

USING:
trinnylondon BFF cream
golden glow bronzer
just a touch concealer
flush blush

maccosmetics mascara
charlottetilbury lip pencil pillow talk
tartecosmetics maracuja juicy lip plumper

Gorgeous Alana and her results from our 1:1 lesson 🤍

Alana's main concerns were wanting something comfortable on her skin. Like me, she isn't a fan of heavier foundations and the feeling of this on her skin - but she felt this was something she needed to try. However, a lot of the time when I discuss with clients what they want from their lesson, what their current routine is, their likes/ dislikes - I can already predict if you're actually going to like something or not.

Texture is a big thing for a lot of people and can become more aware of the feeling of this on their skin. Alana also mentioned to me she doesn't like how foundation accentuates texture - specifically in the sunlight. She mentioned that she tends to stay away from concealer because they tend to be thicker and heavier in consistency. All of these things indicate to me that she won't actually like foundation - or many base products on her skin. Because unfortunately, they can accentuate texture and heighten the awareness of something on your face.

Instead, I wanted to show her how to utilise a concealer as a base. Something of a waxy consistenty that blends into the skin rather than sits on top of it, and pinpointing it only in the areas she *needs* it. This will minimise any texture being accentuated, and also feel a lot more comfortable on the skin. With the correct product placement, I was able to give her a complete base routine using only concealer, and some bronzing/blush for shape and definition. No foundation in sight.

Sometimes we think we need something because it's just what we've been taught, and what we see everyone else doing. But it was great to show her that there are no rules to makeup, and there are products out there than can be used for different purposes - to get the result you want. 🤍
