Today is , an opportunity to discuss the unseen battles many of us face and the deep connection between mental health and trauma.
Trauma can manifest in many different ways—anxiety, depression, chronic stress—and it shapes our responses long after the event has passed. The theme of World Mental Health Day this year reminds us of the importance of awareness, compassion, and support. Many people carry the weight of past experiences, impacting their ability to feel safe, to connect, or even to rest.
Trauma isn’t always something dramatic or easily identified. It can be the small, repeated moments of not feeling heard, the chronic stress of instability, or the loneliness that comes from not being understood. It embeds itself in our nervous systems, influencing how we relate to others and how we relate to ourselves.
Today, we want to acknowledge that it is okay not to be okay. It’s okay to reach out for support. It's okay to slow down and to listen to your body and mind. 🧘♀️
Healing is not linear, and it’s deeply personal. It requires gentle compassion, understanding, and often the support of others—whether it’s a professional, a friend, or a community that makes you feel safe. We heal through connection and through giving ourselves the grace we may not have received when we needed it most.
On this World Mental Health Day, be kinder to yourself and others. Let’s be the safe space that someone needs. Let’s embrace that mental health is health and that no one should feel alone in their struggle.
To those silently struggling: I see you. You matter. And healing is possible. 🧡
