Ottawa School of Thai Massage

Wow it's been a minute. I'm sorry I haven't posted more. With the pandemic, there hasn't been much by way of offerings in Thai Massage training but I do have a workshop coming up on Zoom and I'd like to invite everyone. It could be a great way to introduce Thai to someone in your bubble or maybe you know somebody who'd like to give it a shot. Please pass it on! Link is below.

There's been a lot of interest in expanding on the basic Certification over the last couple of years and I'm happy to announce that starting in September, we will return to the 2-level certification program. The first level 2 course will happen this September and this time we'll have help from Marjorie Moffatt, who has trained in Ayutrveda with the Chopra Institute. Congratulations to the Spring 2018 Certification group! Everyone put a lot of heart and spirit into the class while still keeping it fun and at times silly. Highly inflammable!

Thrilled to have been asked to write an article on Thai Massage for the first issue of "Massage and Yoga" magazine, released today. Spreading the word.

Issue 1 - Now Available. In digital format only. Our First Issue features amazing articles on Fibromyalgia, Thai Massage, Case Studies - Anatomy/Assessment/Treatment Review and so much more!

This gang of awesome ladies rocked the Thai Massage certification and made my job a lot of fun.

In conjunction with the new continuing education program, starting next year a second tier certificate (title TBA) will be available for students who have completed a certificate program, all 5 modules, practicum and individual assessment. Stay posted for further details.

This year we are introducing a new continuing education program. A series of one day modules available to any certified practitioner, whether through this school or another recognised organisation. Each of these five modules has a particular subject of study which I believe will be of great interest to all student.

Another certification has ended and of course another lovely group of people. It's always a pleasure to watch people learn and grow together even if only for a short time. Good work!

There have been a lot of inquiries about the next date for the certification course. The full schedule and FB event pages will be out in the next week, but meanwhile the February dates are up and registration is now open through the website!

News for RMT's. CMTO has just announced they will no longer pre-approve courses for CEU's. However, OSTM courses have traditionally been pre-approved and you should expect to be able to get credit for all our workshops and certifications. If you run into any problems, please contact us and we can provide documentation to support your claim for credit.

Congratulations to the new Thai Massage Certification graduates! It was a pleasure to spend time sharing the art with all of you. Also thanks for the offerings from your coops. I made a stack of beautiful kimchi pancakes with them Sunday night.
