You might think you know what someoneโ€™s goal is in the gym, and there may be some more to it you donโ€™t know about.
What you think is their goal, COULD be a goal of thereโ€™s, but it may be 3rd, 6th, 10th on their list!

This isnโ€™t a typical โ€œprogress postโ€ that you normally see, but I think transparency is important, & so is self awareness, so this is what this post is about.

6 months ago I decided to do the 75 hard challenge.
It was great. It was effing hard, but great.
I loved running. Mentally & physically I saw improvements. I dropped 6kgs. My mindset improved. I read more books than I think I have in my life. I drank a stupid amount of water, felt great for it. I also peedโ€ฆ A LOT ๐Ÿ˜… I was training every day, twice a day!

Overall it was great!!

But. It. Was. Not. Sustainable.

And when I finished, I did not come out of it properly. I basically just stopped.
Not easing myself out cause more harm than good.

I am now 15kg UP from my lowest weight at the end of the challenge.
I havenโ€™t run outside or picked up a book since.
I have let myself eAt iNtUiTiVeLy, aka, when I want something, Iโ€™ll eat it.
But I have also had some other things going on too, like low iron level (not from the challenge), which, if youโ€™ve ever had low iron, you know how exhausted you feel all the time no matter how much sleep you get. Which then makes it super easy to take a rest day after a huge day at work ๐Ÿ˜ด
(Not excuses, just facts)

Fortunately, I became very aware of this a few weeks back & have been making small steps to create long term healthy change.
I will not be doing the 75 hard again anytime soon ๐Ÿ˜‚
I have been nourishing my body with more nutrient dense foods.
Iโ€™ve been drinking more water & learning to rest when I need to rest & go hard when I need to go hard.

PRO- Iโ€™ve been able to increase weight with most of my lifts in the gym. But, health comes first & I will be taking steps to drop some KGS soon!

Luckily this isnโ€™t my first rodeo & I know a great PT ๐Ÿ˜‰ who has an awesome skill set & knowledge to sustainably drop weight over the course of the next few months AND do it slowly & not dramatically so this rebound doesnโ€™t happen again.

I do think itโ€™s normal to go through different stages in life with your body where sometimes your priorities change. But I think itโ€™s super important to be self aware & know when to call yourself out & to make a change ๐Ÿงก
