Firstly, a huge thank you for all the support shown to my sister and her family since the house fire on Saturday evening.

From messages and kind words to donations of clothing, essentials and money, people's generosity has been absolutely overwhelming. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped, donated or shared their story. ❤️

They now face their next challenge — finding somewhere temporary to call home.

Since Saturday night, my sister, brother-in-law and their three children, all under 10, have been staying with friends and family. While they are incredibly grateful to everyone who has given them somewhere to sleep, sofa-surfing simply isn't sustainable for a family of five.

Their insurance company has now asked them to find a suitable rental property while their home is repaired. At the moment, they're being told this could take around six months, potentially longer.

🏠 We are therefore urgently looking for a rental property in or around Wigston, Oadby or Blaby.
Their children attend school in Wigston, so keeping them reasonably close to school would be really important, particularly after everything they've already been through. They also have a family cat, so the property would need to be pet-friendly.

If you're a landlord, know someone with a property available, or have heard of anything suitable that may be coming up soon, please get in touch with me or share this post. Even a recommendation or putting us in contact with the right person could make a huge difference.

We also have a GoFundMe to help the family with the unexpected costs they're facing following the fire. If you're able to donate, no amount is too small and every bit genuinely helps. The boy decided it was time for a change this summer and cut his 3 locs out. It wasn’t long before one of those locs had found its way onto one of my own! 😂 🥰

A little update to my pricing ✨

As my business has grown, so have my experience, skills and the way I work. I’ve taken some time to review my services and I’ll be introducing a restructured pricing system from 1st November.

This isn’t simply about increasing prices. I’m restructuring my services so that pricing more accurately reflects the level of work required for each appointment.

For my regular clients who keep up with their maintenance, there shouldn’t be a significant difference in the cost of your usual appointment. However, where locs require more extensive work — whether due to a longer gap between appointments, significant regrowth, separation, repairs or root-to-tip maintenance — different pricing will apply.

My aim is to make my pricing clearer and fairer, while allowing me to continue providing the time, care and expertise that goes into every appointment.

Appointments already booked before the restructure announcement will be honoured at the price originally quoted. All new bookings will be charged at the new pricing, regardless of the appointment date.

Maintenance and a couple of repairs for Kate’s fabulous locs she installed herself and has been self maintaining at home! It was clear when speaking to Kate during consultation, she had done her research! These locs had established really well and just needed slight encouragement in some areas ✨
