All about resistance training.

Okay let’s get serious, time to talk resistance training. You will either love it or you hate it. I’m here to tell you why it’s good for you and why you should try to love it, why you won’t bulk up, and ways to get ‘er done!

Why resistance training aka “RT” is good for you.

🔥Increased ability to perform normal activities in every day life.
🔥Increase bone density (SOOO important for women!)
🔥Improved motor performance
🔥Decrease the risk of injury
🔥Self-confidence booster
🔥More muscle – less fat=BONUS

Why you should try to love RT?

All of the reasons above.

You really will feel better about yourself. You may feel sore at first, but increased strength is something you notice (and no, I don’t mean you can see it, but you can feel it!)
Just do it! You will thank me for it later🙂

Why you won’t bulk up.

You get bulky at the dinner table, not at the gym. Seriously, what you eat gives you bulk. Want a six-pack? Watch what you eat and do moderate cardio…not crunches!
Increasing your weights in a group exercise class will not give you bulging biceps. Instead, it will help increase your muscle endurance.
Testosterone makes you bulky. As a woman, lifting weights is not going to make you look like a body builder…unless there’s something else in that smoothie you had for breakfast 😝

And on a side note…..You should be lifting more weight than your purse! 😉 You carry your purse around all day, amp up the weights and see the benefits!

Go through the s**t and find the light to come out on the other side every.dam.time!!!

Becoming a successful person is a person with habits and a list of goals.

Having little wins every single day even if you have the worst day ever. You still complete your list to move yourself forward.

Protein plays a major role in our health and wellness journeys!

Regardless of wanting to gain muscle, lose body fat or maintain. Protein is SUPER important.

Protein fuels many different functions or of our body. If we are not getting in enough protein in our daily food intake for those function our bodies will pull those nutrients from our muscles instead 🤯

This process of breaking down muscle also comes with storing body fat which is called catabolic state. I know I want to attain and maintain lean muscle mass. Don’t you?
Do so this you want to be in an anabolic state. This is where we are burning fat and building muscle! 💪🏻

So how do we do this? We eat 1 gram of protein per your body weight goal. Equally as important you want to be getting in 25-30 grams of protein every 2-3 hours! 😳

We can do this by eating high protein foods like cottage cheese, tuna, chicken or beef jerky bits let’s get real here. Do you really want to eat all the time?

This is where my Level-1 protein saves my life!!!

Level-1 is a sustained assimilation protein. This mimics the same digestion as a whole food protein. I really enjoy it in my coffee, as a mug cake, in stuffed French toast or totally on its own in a shake. It’s awesome for a quick meal because the slow digestion will keep me feeling full.

Can you do Reverse Lunges for 5 minutes.
Go ahead give it a try. What’s the worst that can happen? You don’t make the 5 minute time? Oh well is that a fail? Absolutely not! You now have a starting point to challenge yourself to do it until you make that goal!
Exercising your mind is just as important if not more important than working out daily. Mental mindset is a thing.
