My heart is full and I am so very grateful for the way my family spoils me on Mother’s Day. This morning Maddy said to me “One of the things that makes you a great mother is that you mother us the way you wanted to be mothered.” I was so touched by this and it reminded me of all the people who mother in this world. My sisters shown with me in this photo certainly filled in when our own mother was unable or unwilling. The point I want to make is that Mothers Day is really for anyone that steps up make sure a child gets what they need. Those people are often not thanked or recognized in any way. This post is for them.

Happiest Golden 23rd Birthday to our baby girl! You will alway be our sunshine with a little bit of hurricane. You love deeply, defend vigorously & you don’t take crap from anyone. You work both hard & smart. You’re a loyal friend and one heck of a bartender. We love you to the moon and back Maddy♥️

Since my dad died was I was little I have had a life filled with fill-in-fathers. This is my Uncle Dave. For 45 years he’s done an amazing job of being my dad without ever trying to replace my father. He’s not on social media so he won’t see this... he’s married to my aunt so we aren’t technically “related” I just felt it was a good message for the world to be reminded that there are so many men in our lives that step in and show up regardless of the circumstances and they make the world a better place.♥️
