While working with a turner machine in Michigan, USA, Rupert Smit sustained a deep injury to his hand. Despite following the prescribed treatment, the wound remained wet for some time and showed little sign of closing due to the depth of the cut.
One evening, Rupert decided to apply Balm of Gilead. By the following morning, he noticed a significant change; a protective scab had formed, and much of the moisture from the wound had subsided.
Over the course of the next week, the injury continued to improve, healing noticeably day by day. Impressed by the progress, Rupert shared his experience with another gentleman who had suffered a similar injury. After trying Balm of Gilead himself, he, too, was encouraged by the results. 🌿✨

In older translations, 'reins' refers to the kidneys, which in Hebrew symbolised the deepest part of a person's inner being, where motives, thoughts, and convictions reside.

The kidneys carefully filter what should remain and what should be removed. In the same way, Jesus Christ refines our hearts, teaching us to hold fast to what is good and let go of what is harmful.
