LIFE is a Journey
getting people together

PURPOSE DOESN’T LOOK AT YOUR OUTWARD APPEARANCE. 🌱
It doesn't get confused by where you are today.
You may not understand what God is doing.
You may not even see anything special about where you are standing.
But purpose knows where to find you.
David was a shepherd when God’s purpose located him. He wasn't standing on a throne when he was chosen. He was in the field, faithfully doing what was in his hands
Your current position does not define the purpose God has placed on your life.
Purpose aligns with the will of God—even when you don't understand the journey yet.

AUGUST — THE MONTH OF BECOMING 🌱
May this be the month God remembers us.
The month He breathes life into dreams we have carried quietly.
The month where closed doors begin to open, prayers begin to find answers, and what seemed impossible begins to take shape.
When we think of someone who was remembered by God, we cannot forget Esther.
An orphan who was taken from a place of uncertainty and positioned in the palace.
Her beginning did not reveal her destination.
May God remember you this August.
May His grace locate you.
May He fulfill the dreams He placed in your heart. ❤️

Felisha
Season 1: The Chosen One
Episode 3A – A Promise That Never Grew Old
The morning sun had already begun to warm the village when Gogo Bessy tied her faded shawl around her shoulders.
The sounds of everyday life drifted through the air. Roosters crowed from nearby homesteads, children laughed in the distance, and neighbours swept their yards as another Saturday began.
Inside the hut, Gogo Bessy knelt beside a small tin hidden beneath her bed and slowly counted the coins she had been saving.
One...
Two...
Three...
She paused and sighed softly.
It still wasn't enough.
School fees would soon be due.
For a brief moment, she closed her eyes.
Then she smiled.
"A promise doesn't give up," she whispered.
She stepped into her small garden and carefully picked fresh covo, tomatoes, onions and bundles of leafy vegetables. She arranged them neatly inside a woven basket before lifting it onto her head.
Some days she sold vegetables at the nearby market.
When the harvest was poor, she brewed traditional b**r for community gatherings.
Not because she wanted to...
But because every coin brought Felisha one step closer to another term at school.
As she reached the gate, a small voice called behind her.
"Gogo... let me come with you."
Gogo Bessy turned around.
Felisha stood in the yard wearing her old home clothes, her eyes still heavy with sleep but filled with determination.
She walked closer.
"I want to help."
A warm smile spread across Gogo Bessy's face as she gently rested a hand on her granddaughter's shoulder.
"Aiwa, Muzukuru. Sara ugotarira mbudzi nehuku. Wocherawo mvura. Kana wapedza, dzokorora mabhuku ako. Muvhuro wave pedyo."
Felisha lowered her eyes.
"But Gogo... you're always working."
Gogo chuckled softly.
"Usazvinetse neni, Muzukuru. Basa rangu nderekuona kuti iwe uwane mukana wekudzidza. Basa rako nderekuverenga nekurota."
Felisha nodded.
"I'll make you proud, Gogo."
Gogo Bessy's eyes sparkled with joy.
"Unotondidadisa kare, Muzukuru."
She adjusted the basket on her head and slowly walked down the dusty village path.
The basket looked heavy.
But the promise she carried weighed even more.
Felisha stood quietly at the gate until Gogo Bessy disappeared beyond the bend in the road.
She turned back into the yard.
The goats were already bleating.
The chickens scratched happily through the dust.
The buckets beside the well stood empty.
She rolled up the sleeves of her old dress, picked up the buckets and smiled.
"If Gogo is carrying my dreams..."
"...I'll carry what I can."
She looked toward the old mango tree and whispered,
"One day, Gogo... you won't have to carry that basket anymore. I promise."
With renewed determination, she walked towards the well as the morning sun continued to rise over the village.

RUTENDO
Episode 19B – On the Eve of Forever
With the traditional negotiations now complete, excitement filled every corner of both families. Wedding preparations quickly took over. Every morning seemed brighter. Every evening ended with grateful hearts. Friends, relatives and neighbours gladly joined in the celebrations, each eager to play a part in the beautiful day that was drawing near.
The dining table, once covered with Nyasha's family tree project, was now overflowing with guest lists, invitation cards, ribbons, floral samples and neatly folded pieces of fabric. The house had become a place of constant joy. Farai and Felisha had practically become part of the household.
"If weddings paid salaries," Farai joked one evening as he sorted through invitation cards, "I'd be a rich man by now."
Everyone laughed. Felisha shook her head with a smile. "You complain every day, but somehow you're always the first one here."
Farai grinned proudly. "Of course." He pointed first at Darrell, then at Rutendo. "This is my brother's wedding..." He turned to Rutendo with a warm smile. "...and my sister's too."
Felisha smiled warmly. "And that's exactly why we love you."
Meanwhile, Nyasha was completely absorbed in what she believed was the most important responsibility of all. She had officially appointed herself the Little VIP of the wedding. Holding a small bouquet of artificial flowers, she carefully began walking across the living room. Halfway there, she suddenly stopped.
"No..." She shook her head. "I forgot to smile."
The room filled with laughter. Nyasha calmly walked back to where she had started. "Let's try that again."
One step... two steps... three steps... She lifted her chin, smiled from ear to ear and proudly held up her bouquet. "There!"
Felisha clapped happily. "Perfect!"
Nyasha folded her arms with complete confidence. "I know."
Farai chuckled. "I've never seen someone take a job so seriously."
Nyasha looked at him confidently. "I'm representing our family."
Another wave of laughter swept through the room. Even Rutendo had to wipe away tears as she laughed. Moments like these reminded her that the home God had rebuilt was now filled with peace, love and people who truly cared for one another.
As the week unfolded, Darrell and Rutendo found a quiet moment to share lunch during a short break from the wedding preparations. Life had become wonderfully busy, yet every opportunity they had to spend time together still felt like a precious gift. They smiled more than they spoke. Sometimes love needed no conversation. It simply found joy in being together.
As they finished their meal, Darrell reached across the table and gently took Rutendo's hand. "Are you nervous?"
Rutendo smiled softly. "A little." She laughed. "And you?"
Darrell scratched the back of his head. "If I'm honest... I'm more than a little nervous."
They both laughed.
The laughter gradually faded into a peaceful silence. Darrell looked into her eyes. "Thank you."
Rutendo tilted her head gently. "For what?"
"For choosing to walk this journey with me."
Her smile grew even warmer. "I should be the one thanking you. You've brought so much peace into our lives."
Darrell gently squeezed her hand. "No..." He smiled. "God did. He simply gave me the privilege of walking beside you."
Rutendo's eyes glistened. She quietly whispered, "And I'm grateful He did."
For a long moment, they simply sat there, hand in hand. No words were needed. The silence spoke of healing... of grace... and of a love built on faith.
Eventually, Darrell glanced at his watch and smiled. "I suppose we'd better get back before Farai starts calling."
Almost on cue, his phone vibrated. Farai. They looked at each other and laughed.
"I knew it," Rutendo said.
Darrell answered the call. "We're coming."
Farai's voice came through the speaker. "You two can be romantic after the wedding."
Rutendo covered her face, laughing. Darrell shook his head with a grin. "We're on our way."
As they stood to leave, Darrell gently held Rutendo's hand one last time. "Tomorrow night we'll both be sleeping in different places."
Rutendo nodded shyly.
"And the next day..." Darrell smiled. "We'll begin forever."
His words stayed with her long after they had gone their separate ways. Tomorrow would be their final night apart. The next sunrise would change everything.
To be concluded...

RUTENDO
Episode 18 – A Bridge to Healing
It was a quiet Tuesday evening. The rhythmic hum of the washing machine echoed gently through the house, while the rich aroma of beef stew simmering on the stove drifted from the kitchen. Rutendo was in the bedroom folding a mountain of freshly washed clothes, grateful for the simple blessing of an ordinary evening.
In the dining room, the table had disappeared beneath sheets of coloured cardboard, markers, scissors, glitter glue, and carefully cut paper leaves. Nyasha was working on her school project—a family tree. Beside her, Darrell sat on a small plastic chair, studying the masterpiece with exaggerated seriousness.
"So, Captain," he said with a smile, holding one corner of the cardboard steady, "where does this leaf belong?"
Nyasha giggled. "That's Uncle Farai and Auntie Felisha." She carefully glued the leaf onto one of the branches. "They belong close to us."
Darrell nodded approvingly. "I couldn't agree more."
They admired the growing tree together before Nyasha reached for another paper leaf. This time... she stopped. The smile slowly faded from her face. Her fingers remained still as she stared at one empty space near the top of the tree. The room suddenly felt much quieter.
Darrell noticed immediately. He gently placed his marker on the table and turned towards her. "Hey..." His voice was calm and reassuring. "Where did my champion disappear to?"
Nyasha didn't answer straight away. She kept looking at the blank space.
Finally, she spoke. "Uncle Darrell..."
"Yes?"
She swallowed. "I don't know what I'm supposed to write here."
Darrell followed her gaze. The empty space was labelled... *Father.*
For a few moments neither of them spoke. Only the steady hum of the washing machine filled the silence.
Darrell looked back at Nyasha. "Would you like to tell me what you're thinking?"
She sighed softly. "I honestly don't know what I'm supposed to feel." Her eyes never left the cardboard tree. "I never really knew him. The only time I ever saw him was that day at the Foundation."
She paused, gathering her thoughts. "I don't even know if I can say I'm hurt... because you can't lose something you never had."
Darrell remained silent, allowing her to speak without interruption.
A tear escaped down Nyasha's cheek. She wiped it away. "But what pains me the most..." She took a deep breath. "...is that he gave up on me before he ever gave himself the chance to see who I could become. He never looked for me. He never asked how I was doing. He never wanted to know me."
Darrell gently reached across the table and held her hand. "Nyasha..."
She looked into his eyes.
"What happened all those years ago was never your fault. You are one of the kindest, brightest and strongest young ladies I know. You have always been worthy of love."
A faint smile appeared on Nyasha's face. After a moment she asked quietly, "Do you think... he'll ever want to know me?"
Darrell smiled gently. "I don't know what tomorrow holds. But I do know this... People can change. He may never be able to undo yesterday... but if one day he comes with a sincere heart... don't close the door before you've heard him."
Nyasha lowered her eyes. "After everything?"
Darrell nodded. "Forgiveness doesn't erase the past. It simply refuses to let the past decide your future."
She sat quietly, letting his words settle deep within her heart. "I can't promise I'll be ready today."
"You don't have to be. Healing has its own pace."
A small smile returned to Nyasha's face. She reached across the table and squeezed his hand. "Thank you... for never trying to replace him."
Darrell smiled warmly. "I've never wanted his place." He paused before adding softly, "I just want to earn mine."
Unknown to them, Rutendo had quietly stopped in the doorway, holding a basket of neatly folded clothes against her chest. She had heard every word. Tears filled her eyes. Not because her daughter was hurting... but because she had witnessed the gentle wisdom of a man who understood that love never competes—it heals.
Nyasha looked at the family tree once more. The space marked Father remained blank. She stared at it for a long moment before reaching for one last paper leaf.
Darrell watched curiously. "I thought your project was finished."
Nyasha smiled. "It wasn't."
She picked up a marker and carefully wrote: *Uncle Darrell.*
Instead of placing it where the space marked Father remained, she drew a new branch beside her own and gently glued the leaf there. Darrell looked at the tree before looking back at her. "You didn't have to do that."
Nyasha smiled through tear-filled eyes. "I know." She took a deep breath. "You can't replace my father. And I don't want you to." She pointed to the new branch. "But I wanted you to have your own place. This is your place. You've loved me and my mom when you didn't have to. You've cared for us. You've protected us. And you've taught me something I'll never forget. Family isn't only about the people we're born to. It's also about the people who choose to stay."
Darrell's eyes filled with tears. For a moment, he couldn't speak. Finally, he smiled. "Thank you, Princess. It will always be an honour to have a place in your heart."
Nyasha smiled warmly. "Thank you, Uncle Darrell... for loving me. For loving my mom. And for showing us what kindness, patience, and real love look like. You've taught us so much."
Without another word, Darrell opened his arms. Nyasha stepped forward and wrapped him in a warm embrace. He held her gently, silently thanking God for the privilege of being part of her life.
Rutendo could no longer hold back her tears. She looked toward heaven and whispered, "Thank You, Lord... You truly make all things beautiful in Your time."
The family tree now held every name exactly where it belonged. Some branches told the story of where life had begun. Others told the story of the people God had lovingly added along the journey.
The sound of the washing machine continued in the background. The beef stew continued to simmer. Life carried on as usual. Yet in that ordinary Tuesday evening, God had quietly mended a wounded heart. And somewhere deep inside, a bridge to healing had begun to take shape.

RUTENDO
Episode 14: Unfolding Moments
A week passed. The heaviness Rutendo had carried since lunch with Darrell had slowly begun to lift. They spoke every now and then—not for hours or every minute—but enough to get to know each other a little better. There was no pressure, no expectations. Somehow, that made every conversation feel effortless.
Meanwhile, Darrell was going through some reports when his phone rang. He glanced at the screen and smiled. Farai. He answered with a grin.
"Hello, Fatso."
"Aaah, mujaya, zvamaita hazvisi bho!" Farai complained dramatically.
Darrell laughed. "What have I done now?"
"I've waited a whole week... a good whole week! And you still haven't told me how the lunch went."
Darrell shook his head, smiling. "You really couldn't wait, could you?"
"Not a chance. Now stop dodging the question and tell me everything."
Darrell leaned back in his chair. "It actually started really well. We talked, we laughed... everything felt natural."
"So what happened?" Farai asked, his tone becoming more serious.
Darrell sighed. "I told her I'd like to have her in my life for a very long time."
"And?"
"Something about those words reminded her of her past. She got overwhelmed and left."
For a moment, neither of them spoke. Then Farai broke the silence. "Mujaya... that woman has been through a lot."
"I know," Darrell replied quietly. "She called me later and explained everything. She wasn't running from me... she was running from old wounds."
"So what's the plan now?"
Darrell looked out of the office window before answering. "No plan."
"No plan?" Farai asked.
Darrell smiled faintly. "I'm just going to be patient. Trust isn't something you demand. It's something you earn."
Farai smiled. "I knew you'd say that." He paused before continuing. "Mujaya... don't give up on her. From everything you've told me, she didn't run because of you. She's still fighting yesterday." He let his words settle before adding, "Give her the space she needs... but don't be too far away. Right now, she probably needs someone who'll stay more than ever. Don't rush her, but don't disappear either. Let her discover, one day at a time, that not every promise ends in heartbreak."
A small smile appeared on Darrell's face. "Thanks, Fatso... I needed to hear that."
Farai laughed. "That's what Fatso is here for. Now stop overthinking and keep being the man you've been."
Darrell chuckled. "I will."
Later that afternoon, Felisha walked into Rutendo's office carrying a file. Before she could say anything, she noticed Rutendo smiling at her phone. She folded her arms and smiled knowingly.
"So... he is not giving you a break, hanty?"
Rutendo looked up and laughed. "Kind of," she admitted, blushing. "But I really enjoy talking to him."
Felisha pulled a chair closer and sat beside her. "So... what's different?"
Rutendo locked her phone before answering. "He's giving me time and space. Tiri kungotaura hedu... but not that much."
Felisha nodded approvingly. "Exactly what you needed." She gently squeezed Rutendo's shoulder. "Take your time, Rue. Hausi kumhanyiswa." She smiled before adding, "But Darrell seems to be a good guy."
Rutendo lowered her eyes, unable to hide the smile on her face. "I think so too."
Felisha laughed softly. "Look at you blushing."
Rutendo covered her face, laughing. "Feli!"
Another Saturday arrived. Rutendo had just finished watering the flowers on her balcony when her phone rang. A smile appeared as soon as she saw Darrell's name on the screen.
"Good morning."
"Morning," Darrell replied warmly. "I hope I'm not disturbing you."
"Not at all."
"I was wondering... would you like to spend a few hours with me this afternoon?"
Rutendo smiled. "What do you have in mind?"
"I thought we'd do something different this time." He chuckled softly. "No restaurant."
She laughed. "I'm listening."
"There's a botanical garden I've been wanting to visit. I thought we could take a walk, enjoy the scenery, and maybe grab some ice cream afterwards."
Rutendo paused for a moment. It sounded simple. Peaceful. There was no pressure behind the invitation. Just two people enjoying each other's company.
"I'd like that."
"Great," Darrell said, unable to hide the smile in his voice. "I'll pick you up at two."
"I'll be ready."
After ending the call, Rutendo stood quietly on her balcony. A gentle smile lingered on her face. Little by little, the walls around her heart were beginning to come down. She still had fears. She still had questions. But for the first time, she was allowing herself to believe that trusting Darrell might not be a mistake after all.
