This is Eileen.
The woman behind the first half of Eileen Violet.
When I think of her, I don't remember grand speeches or life lessons. I remember how she made me feel.
Safe.
Seen.
Loved.
She was softness and grace. A safe place where I didn't have to prove myself or earn her approval.
Somehow, she communicated, without words, what so many of us spend our lives longing to hear:
"You are truly loved"
Looking back, I realise that love isn't always found in words. Sometimes love is...
Presence.
Feeling accepted exactly as you are.
A feeling of coming home.
One of the greatest lessons my grandmother taught me was that we don't always get to choose what happens to us, but we do get to choose how we rise and who we become.
Her legacy lives on in more ways than one.
Even in the textures we create, I've tried to capture something of who she embodied so naturally:
Gentleness
Comfort
Care
A reminder to extend to ourselves the same kindness we so freely give to others.
I called grandmother Eileen Mamma and today I can say thank you for loving me.

What my body and skin have taught me about love...
Love has always been there.
In every moment of healing. In every act of protection. In every quiet repair.
My body became evidence of a love that never left me even when I didn't see it.
And slowly, I got to see that this is true for all of us.
What if your body isn't fighting you but has been loving you all along? Not perfectly, but faithfully.
It never questioned your worth. It just kept showing up.

To be loved in return.
