There’s a lot of opinions about the temperature of water we use to wash our face, I’ve seen so many tips and “advice” that really make me question my preference.
Personally, I prefer to use cold water… the colder the better.
I have very dry, acne prone skin, that is always inflamed. The coldness of the water really helps calm down the inflammation and just gives me that fresh and energized look.
Whatever works for your skin is what you should do, try new things and see if it works for you, if not just go back to what you were doing before.
This picture really helps understand what the different temps can do for your skin and from my experience it’s quite accurate.

We never skip SPF, UV rays do so much long term damage to the skin like sun spots (freckles), pre-mature aging, fine lines, uneven skin tone. A little SPF made specially for the face can save you tons of money in the long run.
Popping pimples are big no-no. It spreads bacteria to the area around the pimple and causes you to break out more. Aside from that, popping pimples leads to dark marks and scarring on the skin which will take years to repair. Rather use a pimple patch, or wait for it to pop on its own.
I know so many people that still use expired products or products that have gone past the recommended usage time period. Even though it may seem like the product is still okay to use, I promise you it is not. There are certain ingredients that can be harmful to the skin when used over the recommended time period and this can cause severe damage to the barrier of your skin.
This goes for any skin care product and make up products. Once expired or has passed the recommended time period, it needs to be thrown away. Rather spend the money on a new product than spending more on trying to fix your problematic skin that you caused by using an expired product.

I thought it would be a good idea to post this for educational purposes.
I was actually surprised to find out how many people don’t know their skin type. This is essential to know what products to use on your face. Using the wrong products on your skin can lead to damage to the skin barrier and lead to major skin issues. A lot of the time, all we need to do to solve most of our facial skin issues is to focus on repairing the skin barrier.
Hope this helps 🙂

Basic skin care routine for all skin types.
You can always add in more products if you’re targeting certain skin conditions or issues, but you should never leave any of this out.
Caring for your skin from a young age can help in your skin health as you get older. It’s not always good genetics when you see an older person looking years younger than they actually are, it’s also taking good care of your skin and making skincare a ritualistic part of your daily routine.
