🚨 A reminder that price, popularity & a fully booked diary do NOT equal safe lash application.

Today I removed a set of lash extensions that had been applied at a very well-known, fully booked beauty brand with multiple stores across shopping malls.

The client paid around R1,000 for her lashes — yet there was little to no proper isolation.

The extensions had been bonded too close to, and in some areas directly onto, the skin rather than being correctly attached to the individual natural lashes. There was no healthy separation at the base.

She had her lashes done on Tuesday. By Saturday, her eyes were still visibly swollen and inflamed, and she had been uncomfortable for days.

This is exactly why lash extensions are not simply about making lashes look beautiful.
Proper isolation, correct placement, appropriate adhesive control and respecting the natural lash are essential. 🤍

As lash artists, we have a responsibility to prioritise the health of the natural lashes and the delicate eye area — not just the finished look.

And as clients, please remember:

✨ A big brand doesn't automatically mean better technique.
✨ A high price doesn't guarantee safe application.
✨ A fully booked salon doesn't guarantee proper training.
