One way to reduce your plastic waste is to use a menstrual cup.
Here are a few more reasons to convert❤️
🩸They are reusable, lasting for years with proper care. This means less disposable period products ending up in landfills.
🩸You only need one cup unlike reusable pads or period underwear where you need to build a collection.
🩸They are budget friendly as you make a once-off purchase versus buying pads and tampons monthly.
🩸You’re not at risk of toxic shock syndrome (TSS), a rare infection associated with tampon use. Despite this, be sure to wash your hands (and your cup) well to avoid risk of infection.
🩸They hold a surprising amount of blood. This means you don’t have to change them as often.
🩸Good protection against leaks when inserted correctly.
🩸Good for you & the planet!

Where does our rubbish go?
After throwing your rubbish into the bin and having it collected, we don’t tend to give much thought to what happens to it.
South Africans generate roughly 54,2 million tons of general (municipal, commercial, and industrial) waste per year. Of this 54,2 million of tons of waste, a maximum of only 10% is recycled or recovered for other uses, whilst at least 90% is landfilled or dumped.
Although not the answer to the bigger problem, Recycling has improved dramatically over the years but with our consumption of plastic packaging increasing all the time, it is as important as ever that we Reduce the amount of our waste that makes it to landfill.
