I woke up this morning with a smile on my face.
Not because my life is perfect or that I have everything under control..
Not even close.
I’m a perfectly imperfect person, wonderfully flawed and chaotically beautiful in the most unique ways.
When I started appreciating the parts of me that were awkward, messy and weird, I began to see the beauty of who I truly was.
I stopped thinking I wasn’t doing enough, trying hard enough or being enough.
I was more than all of that.
I was being the best version of myself and I know now that’s all I can expect from myself.
I may stumble out of the house with disastrous hair, dropping things as I go, but that’s just how I roll.
I’ll never be perfect and I’m really, really good with that.
I don’t want to be.
I want to experience all the amazing moments of my life just as I am- I’ve worked hard to get where I am and now I deserve to celebrate how far I’ve come…
Not beat myself up because I’m not where I thought I would be.
I have time- there are always more tomorrows in which I can keep moving forward, working hard and chasing my dreams.
My goals don’t have an expiration, so I don’t care where I’m not and what I haven’t done yet, but how I enjoy and learn from the journey.
I know some people may look at my messy everything and shake their head..they just don’t get me.
The thing is, the people that love me do understand and appreciate me- and that’s all I could ever want or ask for.
So, forgive me if I don’t get caught up in what the world thinks of me, because I have more important things to do..like living a full life.
Like being a strong warrior,
Like having a loving heart of gold,
Like having deep talks, beautiful moments and finding the joy in the little things all around me.
Whether it’s a beautiful sunrise, a memorable song playing or the feel of a warm breeze in my hair..
I’m all in when it comes to making the most of my life, my moments and my journey.
Maybe I’ll always be a bit of a mess and even sometimes not have a clue where I’m going,
But I’ll always do it my way.
My life won’t ever be built on perfection or being flawless,
But on just choosing to be happy,
Each and every day.
I don’t know about you,
But there’s not much more I could ask for than that.
Because I’ll always be me..and I’ll always be enough.

When you met her, you knew she was different.
It wasn’t so much about how she looked or what she said…
It was how she carried herself and her unmistakable drive to conquer her life and everything in it.
She’d humbly tell you that she was just trying to make it the best she could, but from the first glance, it was obvious she had everything going for her.
She didn’t accept defeat in anything and was never okay with disrespect or dismissal.
Focused, passionate and driven, she knew who she was and what she wanted-
But also what she didn’t want in her life.
So, when she crosses your path, choose to add value to her life or just admire her from afar.
She’ll never be okay with anything less.
She’s not going to tell that she’s perfect or flawless, but that doesn’t mean she’ll ever stop striving to reach perfection.
She understands that people will let her down, but she’s not okay with lazy love, lack of effort or with anyone acting poorly, unable to take responsibility.
She’ll treat you with grace and respect, adding her genuine passion to the mix…
And she expects your version of the same in return.
So, be her friend, be her admirer or try to love her,
But don’t interrupt her rise to greatness if you’re not willing to give her your best.
She deserves that..
And so very much more.
Anything less and you’ll watch her walk away,
And she won’t look back.

I know you’ve been beating yourself up about what you didn’t get done, what needs to be done and everything that has gone wrong.
Stop.
Take a deep breath and get out of your head.
You don’t realize the amount of courage it takes every day just to be you..
Most people wouldn’t be able to do it.
The days when you don’t want to get out of bed but you still do.
The moments when you want to cry but hold it together.
The times when you feel like falling apart but find a way to keep going..
Those are the moments of courage and bravery that you don’t even think about..
Sometimes, it’s the little pieces of strength that we string together every day that defines who we are and will become.
You don’t have to climb the mountains all at once..
Take one step after another until you reach the top.
Sometimes, it’s that little voice at the end of the day that reminds you that you’re still here, still fighting, still strong.
Listen to that voice, for tomorrow is a new day and you are never defeated unless you stay down.
So, step back from the world for just a moment and realize how strong, brave and courageous you really are.
Stop beating yourself up about what you haven’t done and recognize what you’ve accomplished.
Life isn’t a journey in a straight line-you’re going to detour, misstep and take wrong turns along the way.
But that’s the beautiful thing about life.
You get another chance every day.
It’s called tomorrow.
Maybe tomorrow, stand a little prouder, believe a little more and fight a little harder.
You’ve come a long ways.
You’ve beaten some amazing odds.
And no matter what has happened, you’ve never stayed down.
Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start again.
You’re strong enough,
You’re brave enough,
And most of all, you’ll always rise above the storm.
Look in the mirror and smile, darling.
You got this..and you always will.

When you meet a woman like her, you might think she’s much like any other woman… and that’s where you’d be wrong.
She’s nothing like any other woman you’ve ever known.
If you judge her just at skin deep beauty, you’ll be missing out on the beautiful depths that lie hidden behind her soulful eyes.
She may often appear brooding or quiet, but there’s so much going on in her mind that most will never know.
To meet her is to know her.
To know her is to fall in love with her.
To fall for her is to plunge headfirst into the gorgeous truths that she holds close.
She’s not a short story, she’s an amazing novel of epic proportions that will never cease to intoxicate and draw you in.
Truth is, she’ll never be okay with ordinary or lackluster, for she does nothing halfway.
If she can’t put all of herself into something or someone, she steps away.
She’s as passionate as she is deep, the sort of person that you can get lost in…and still not uncover all that she is.
So, when she pulls you close and chooses to love you- whether as a friend, lover, soulmate or partner, it’s a special thing.

I only wanted to be happy, that’s all I set out to find.
I didn’t have a plan other than to listen to my heart and chase my dreams.
But, I didn’t end up where I planned to go, but I did arrive exactly where I needed to be.
I didn’t choose to be strong..that never even crossed my mind.
Sometimes, you find your strength when being strong is your only option.
I stumbled and fell flat on my face so many times I wondered often if I should even keep getting back up.
But that’s just who I am-
I have fire in my veins and embers in my heart and I always will.
I don’t know how to quit and I’ll never stay down for long.
I don’t care what brings me to my knees, I will always stand back up and keep moving forward.
Truth is, I have been broken more often than I care to admit, but that was exactly what I needed to let the light into my soul.
My true strength isn’t how I kept from breaking, but how I kept going after I broke.
I don’t have the answers and most times,
I’m a beautiful disaster that is lucky to match socks or remember what day it is.
The most wonderful part?
I don’t have to have it all together, because I never truly will..
I like to say that’s part of my charm.
So, for anyone looking for perfect, then don’t look to me if that’s what you want.
I’m beautifully broken, but amazingly awesome and always genuinely authentic .
And oh yes, I’m also impossibly strong.
So, if you’re looking for me,
You’ll find me out dancing in the rain and embracing the hurricane.
I may not be everything you’ve ever hoped for, but I’ll always be real, authentic and true..
and maybe exactly what you never knew you always needed.
Mind, spirit and soul,
I’m strong in all the ways that matter.
So now, every time life tries to bring me to my knees, looks me in the eye and tells me..
“You can’t withstand the storm,”
I simply smile back and say..
“I am the storm.”
