MIST Skincare

Yay or nay? Have you used it? I haven't actually tried it myself.

But while stocking up on ingredients today I came across the extract in powder form and it got me debating whether to formulate a snail mucin serum or cream for MIST… 🐌

Naturally rich in glycoproteins, hyaluronic acid, glycolic acid, peptides, and antioxidants the benefits for the skin are really impressive!

So obviously, I've been down the rabbit hole 😂

I requested the full technical data sheet from the supplier and also asked exactly how the mucin is extracted 🙈

And... the snails are not harmed during the extraction process but they are obviously farmed 🐌

And while the extraction itself doesn't harm them, I’m not at all sure how I feel about snail farming for skincare.

Not a question I ever thought I would be asking myself 🤣🤣

A little bit about the person behind MIST 😅

I’m not much of a fan of being on this side of the camera, so I probably won’t be doing this often 😂

The last product I’ll make in my old lab! (It’s a Vitamin C Serum)

It feels a little sad to think about not working in this cozy special space that once meant so much to me but next week, I’m hoping to officially move into the new MIST Skincare lab! 🤩

Bigger space, more room to store, create, formulate and grow and I can't wait to get in there and unpack, (decorate 🤭) and get started!

What a beautiful part of the world we live in! We went off grid and completely out of contact/reception yesterday, canoeing down the Keurbooms River and spent the night at the Wh***ey Creek cabin with friends and family. Much needed break after a busy month! 💛
