We have been made aware of an increasing number of scam attempts targeting residents. Scammers are contacting individuals, claiming that their City of Johannesburg account is in arrears and threatening to disconnect services. They then instruct you to make a payment into a different account to avoid disconnection.

PLEASE BE AWARE:

City of Johannesburg will never ask you to make payments into any account other than their official account.
If you receive such a call, do not make any payments or share personal details.
Always verify your account status by contacting the official COJ Call Centre at 011-375 5555.
We urge all residents to remain vigilant and not fall victim to these scams. If you are unsure, please take the necessary steps to confirm your account status directly with the City of Johannesburg.

We have a current outbreak of the dreaded dog illness Parvo in Muldersdrift.
Please see above info sheet.
PLEASE vaccinate your dogs as soon as possible at your local vet.

If you have a sick dog and you suspect Parvo please keep your dog in the car when going to the vet. Advise them so they can ensure other dogs do not get infected.

Parvo is spread in the same way COVID is. If you are around or touch a sick dog please wash your shoes and hands well before touching other pets.

The cost of the vaccine is way cheaper than treatment for parvo - save money by vaccinating! Most dogs DO NOT survive Parvo.

I am trying to arrange vaccine via the Dept of Agriculture for our indigent communities but cannot guarantee this will become available or when.
