Happy World obesity day.
There's an estimated 1.9 billion people worldwide will be living with obesity in 2035 and that translates to 1 in 4 people. This is the global picture of obesity trends and its not looking good.
Obesity is a complex interaction of multiple factors including genetics, biology, health care access, food, physical activity level etc.
As health care providers, we play a vital role in educating the public about the health implications of obesity and challenge myths and misconceptions about the management of obesity.
Obesity is a disease and we need not to glorify it with names that we end up overlooking the dangers it poses on our health and economy.
