COURT UPDATE | State v/s Appreciate Makhubele

A 30 year-old accused Appreciate Makhubele appeared in Modjadjiskloof Magistrate's Court facing charges of murder, today, Thursday 24 July 2025 and the case was postponed to 31 July 2025 for bail application.

According to the information obtained from the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Limpopo.

The deceased and his brother were admitted at the accused disciplinary camp, after their mother called the accused to come and fetch them, according to the deceased 's mother, the accused forced the deceased to apologise to his mother before they left and was even assaulted in her presence and even when they arrived at the Camp he was assaulted with a chain and a pipe and kept in isolation while he had bruises and was unable to walk or bath himself, he was helped by his brother and the brother also witnessed the victim (deceased) stomping on the swollen hand and it oozed blood and after they saw that it was not getting any better they called the mother telling her that the hand needs a traditional healer and they took him back home and he showed his mother the injuries on his back that's when he was taken to hospital on the 10 July 2025 and he succumbed to his injuries on the 12 July 2025

The Forensic Post-mortem analysis was conducted on 18 July 2025 and a Pathologist confirmed that the deceased sustained severe injuries.

A case of an inquest was open on Monday 21 July 2025 and the accused was arrested on Tuesday 22 July 2025 and was charged with murder. .
