Why Birth Wishes Matter ✨ . .
Birth wishes are so much more than a checklist or a "perfect Birth plan."
They are a way of sharing what matters most to you, how you hope to feel, how you would like to be supported, and what helps you feel safe, informed and respected throughout your Birth.
While Birth can be beautifully unpredictable, your wishes still have value. They create meaningful conversations with your Birth team and ensure that your voice remains at the heart of your care, even if your journey takes an unexpected turn.
There is no right or wrong way to create Birth wishes. Start simply. Think about what brings you comfort, who you would like beside you, and the kind of environment that helps you feel calm and confident. Most importantly, allow your wishes to be flexible, because Birth is not about following a script; it's about being supported every step of the way.
Your Birth story is uniquely yours, and your wishes deserve to be heard with kindness, compassion and respect. 🤍
A Little Weekend Reminder 🤍 . .
You don't always have to be doing.
Sometimes you can simply . .
Rest.
Breathe.
Be.
Your body and your soul deserve all the softness too! 🌸

Skin-to-Skin 🩷 . .
A gentle beginning, a lifelong connection 🤍
There is something deeply instinctive about holding your Baby close, feeling their warmth against your skin, and allowing the two of you to simply be together.
Skin-to-Skin contact can offer beautiful benefits for both Baby and Mother, including supporting bonding, encouraging feelings of safety, helping regulate Baby’s temperature and heart rate, and releasing oxytocin - The hormone that supports connection, relaxation, and emotional wellbeing.
But, it is essential to acknowledge that Birth and early Motherhood do not always unfold the way we imagine.
Sometimes Skin-to-Skin happens immediately. Sometimes it happens hours, days, or even weeks later. Sometimes recovery, medical needs, exhaustion, Birth experiences, or unexpected circumstances mean things look different.
Connection is not lost when things don’t go according to plan.
There are countless opportunities to build that bond, one loving moment at a time.
🪿 Here are a few Gentle Ways to Embrace Skin-to-Skin . .
~ Rest Baby on your bare chest when you feel comfortable and supported.
~ Create a Calm Environment - Dim lights, warmth, and quiet can help you both settle.
~ Follow Baby’s cues and allow the moment to be about connection, not expectation.
~ If direct Skin-to-Skin isn’t possible right away, know that loving touch, your voice, your presence, and your care still matter deeply.
There is no single “right” way to bond with your Baby. There is only your unique journey together. 🤍
🌸 May this weekend remind you that peace is rarely found in doing more.
It is often waiting quietly in the moments you choose to slow down and be fully present. 🤍

Understanding Optimal Fetal Positioning 🤍
Optimal Fetal Positioning refers to the position your Baby adopts in the womb as they prepare for Birth.
Ideally, towards the end of pregnancy, many Babies settle into a head-down position with their back towards the front of your tummy (often called an anterior position).
While every pregnancy is unique, this position is often associated with a more efficient labour, as it allows the Baby's head to move more easily through the pelvis.
🪿 Here Are a Few Gentle Ways to Encourage Your Baby to Find This Position Naturally . .
~ Sit with your hips slightly higher than your knees when possible.
~ Avoid remaining reclined for long periods, especially during the final weeks of pregnancy.
~ Stay active with pregnancy-safe gentle movement, such as walking or delicate stretching.
~ Spend a few minutes each day on your hands and knees if it feels comfortable.
~ Change positions regularly throughout the day rather than sitting in one place for too long.
It's important to remember that Babies continue moving throughout pregnancy, and many don't settle into their Birth position until the final weeks, or even during labour itself.
Optimal Fetal Positioning is about supporting your Baby's natural movements, not trying to "make" them move.
Every pregnancy is different, and many Babies who aren't in an anterior position are still born safely.
🤍 Remember to always speak with your Birth Team regarding any concerns you may have about Baby's position.
In a world that encourages us to keep going, may today be a gentle reminder that slowing down is not falling behind.
Rest. Breathe deeply. Notice the little moments that bring you peace.
Sometimes, caring for yourself is the most meaningful thing you can do. 🤍

🌸 The postpartum season is one of the most profound transitions a woman will ever experience, yet it is often the season that receives the least support.
After months of preparing to welcome your Baby, the focus naturally shifts to your little one, but who is caring for you?
The weeks following Birth, often called the fourth trimester, are a time of deep healing, adjustment, and transformation.
Your Body is recovering, your emotions may feel beautifully full for one moment and overwhelming the next, and you are learning to navigate a completely new rhythm of life.
This is why postpartum care matters. 🩷
As your Doula, my role is to walk alongside you during this tender season, offering compassionate, non-judgemental support that nurtures both you and your Baby.
Postpartum care is about creating a safe space where you feel heard, reassured, and gently supported as you settle into Motherhood.
Support May Include . . 🤍
~ Emotional encouragement and a listening ear.
~ Gentle guidance as you grow in confidence with your Baby.
~ Practical support that eases the demands of daily life.
~ Encouragement to rest, recover, and honour your own wellbeing.
~ A calm, nurturing presence so that you never feel you have to carry this journey alone.
One of the greatest misconceptions is that asking for help means you are struggling. The truth is that Mothers were never meant to do this alone.
Throughout history, women were cared for by their families and communities after Birth, allowing them the time and space to heal.
✨ Every Mother deserves that same care today.
If you are preparing to welcome your Baby, remember this - Creating postpartum care wishes are just as important as creating your Birth wishes.
Because when a Mother is nurtured, she is better able to nurture those she loves.
You deserve to feel held, supported, and cared for - Every step of the way. 🤍
