Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder🤍

Social Media creates unrealistic expectations when it comes to beauty and it breeds comparison. We start to look at ourselves from the outside in, instead of looking from the inside out. We forget that being beautiful also has to do with being well and healthy (physically and emotionally).
Therefore it is SO important to look at beauty as a whole, to remember that accepting your flaws and embracing the imperfections are what makes you, well, YOU! 🤍💃🏻

So… if we are all beautiful and imperfectly perfect? Why would you invest in aesthetic treatments?

Goal of aesthetic treatments
✨to enhance natural beauty
✨to soften wrinkles
✨to reproportion instead of change

If we are fortunate enough to age, we experience the first signs of ageing on our faces in the form of wrinkles, followed by three-dimentional changes in muscle dynamics (sagging/ overactive/ underactive) and volume (fat and water loss).
Unfortunately due to our stressed daily lives, enviromental factors, our genetics and our lifestyle- these changes are too often more negative than positive.
It influences our self-esteem, our happiness, the manner in which we interact with others and eventually our quality of life. Negative changes can result in being perceived as older, looking tired or less beautiful.

So if there is a way to age gracefully and to subtly enhance your beauty and prevent these negative effects- Why not be the most beautiful beholder you can be?🤍🤍

Criteria Checklist for Frontalis Muscle Injection ✔️

❕Injecting Botulinum Toxin into this muscle is a very delicate procedure and should be practiced with caution.
❕If overtreated, the muscle will feel heavy and it might lead to drooping of the eyebrows (Brow ptosis).

Injections are done superficially (only on the surface) in the middle and upper part of the forehead taking the following checklist into consideration:
1️⃣ Height of the forehead
2️⃣ Eyebrow mobility
3️⃣ Strength of the Frontalis muscle.

1️⃣Height of the forehead
❕Short forehead: generally not treated as the risk of the muscle feeling heavy or brow ptosis is too high.
❕Large/ “high” forehead: safer to treat as there is a larger area to inject (other two checkpoints are however essential before deciding to treat).

2️⃣Eyebrow mobility
❕If the muscles of the eyebrows are very actively lifting the eyebrows- they play a role in lines forming on the forehead. They should then either be injected first, to see the effect it has on the forehead, or they should be injected in conjunction with the forehead to balance the effect.

3️⃣Strength of the Frontalis Muscle
❕Amount of ridges/lines on the forehead indicates the strength of the muscle.
❕If less than three lines are present on the forehead the muscle is not very strong and the hypermobile eyebrows may be the culprit that causes these forehead wrinkles. In this case injection is generally not carried out due to the potential risk of muscle heaviness or drooping of the eyebrows.
❕ More than three lines can indicate that the strength of contraction is quite high and injection can be considered.
❕If deep lines are present it can be due to either excessive contraction of the muscle or excessive mobility (greater range of movement) of the muscle.
❕ Forehead injections will therefore be performed if there is excessive contraction AKA strength and not excessive mobility.

The absolute maximum amount which should be injected is 20 Units.

If you are unhappy with your forehead wrinkles, but unsure/ scared of the risks- you are more than welcome to either send us a DM and schedule a ZOOM consultation or you can visit me for a consultation.🤍

Frontalis Muscle AKA Forehead Lines

▫️The frontalis muscle is a thin, wide muscle in the area of your forehead.
▫️It is an elevator muscle, which means its function is - elevation/lifting. Therefore the muscle raises the eyebrows, wrinkles the forehead and plays a role in facial expressions.

💉Injecting Botulinum Toxin into this muscle is a very delicate procedure and should be practiced with caution.
💉If overtreated, the muscle will feel heavy and it might lead to drooping of the eyebrows (Brow ptosis).
💉Injections are done superficially (only on the surface) in the middle and upper part of the forehead taking the following checklist into consideration:

2. Eyebrow mobility
3. Strength of the Frontalis muscle.

Masseter Injection AKA “Chewing and Talking” Muscle 💉

The Masseter plays a role in lifting the jaw, closing the mouth, chewing food and talking. It is assisted by three other muscles; temporalis muscle (muscle you feel at your temples on the side of your head), lateral and medial pterygoid muscles.

Signs you are overworking your masseter/ grinding your teeth:

❕Headaches
❕Tenderness of the above mentioned muscles
❕Neck tightness
❕Earache
❕Painful jaws
❕Painful teeth
❕Wearing of the teeth (in severe cases teeth can shift, chip and can even be lost as a result)

Overworking of the masseter muscle can also result in the muscle growing larger/ bulging at the jaw line, which gives the face a squarer appearance and so-called “chipmunk cheeks”. 🐿
Causes of an overworked masseter/ grinding of teeth can be habitual or stress-related.🤯

Injecting the muscle will:

💜Relax the muscle by reducing its contraction and limiting its movement.
💜It wil exert less pressure and work less.
💜The jaw will appear slimmer as the bulge of the overworked muscle will decrease.
💜Cheek bones may appear more defined.
💜Headaches, muscle tightness and pain will reduce significantly.
💜Longevity of teeth will be improved due to less clenching and grinding.

{Total of 32 units (16 units per side) are required.}

Please do not hesitate to DM us with any questions or concerns.🤍
