When I was initiated for the first time in 1937 into the mysteries and knowledge of Mother Africa I was ordered by my teacher, who was my aunt, to go outside and fill a small clay of pot with water. Then she said to me, "Look into the water---what do you see?" I was caught in a trap because an initiate is not supposed to have an ego. An initiate is not supposed to refer to himself. I said, "Aunt, I see a person in this water." She said, "Who is that person?" I did not dare say it was me. I said, "It is the person I know who is the son of my mother, the only son." And she said, "Yes, you are in this water, and the water is in you. Until you know that, that you and the water are one, you must not even drink the water, you must not even think about it, because you have cut yourself off from it." . . .

Honorable ones, our people believe many strange things regarding water. They believe that water is a living entity. That water has got a mind, that it remembers. The reason why a lake forms where it is, the reason why a river flows through where it flows, is not because it happens to be the right place for water to flow---no! It is because in that place where the river flows, there is an energy, an invisible spirit that moves like a snake, under the ground through the fine sand and which moves in the direction opposite to the one down which the river flows. If this great fire snake, as we call it, this unseen energy, if it dies, then the river dies too. We are told that lakes form where they form because there is an agreement between the water and certain types of rock. . . .

Ladies and gentleman, many, many times in Africa, when I started fighting to preserve what I thought was sacred, I was often snarled at, ridiculed and even beaten up as a superstitious heathen. But I was only preaching what my grandfathers had preached. I was only preaching what our mothers had taught us: that water is sacred. It is the life-blood of the great mother. It should not be damned or in any way interfered with because if that is done, the water dies.

Why did we choose these INGREDIENTS? ⬇️

We aspire to use organic and natural ingredients in our skincare formulations where possible.

For some formulations, we may use naturally derived or nature identical ingredients due to their function in and the stability of the skincare formulation.

Naturally derived ingredients are made to be used instead synthetic alternatives.

Nature identical ingredients (like citric acid) are made in a lab, as their organic/natural equivalents may not be able to be grown sustainably.

Our SKINCARE PHILOSOPHY ⬇️

We endeavour to provide skincare products that are kind to animals, humans, and the planet.

Kind to ANIMALS means: Not tested on animals, and not from animals.

Kind to HUMANS means: Not harmful to humans. No child/slave labour is used in the growing, cultivating, harvesting, manufacture, or packaging of ingredients.

Kind to THE PLANET means: Sustainably grown, farmed, cultivated, harvested, manufactured, and packaged ingredients. Organic, natural, naturally derived, and nature identical ingredients.

We support suppliers who have the same values.

We continually strive to find more sustainable packaging options.

Where it is found that our products do not align with the above, we will research alternatives and revisit the skincare formula.

World Animal Day is an International Day of Action for animal rights and welfare celebrated annually on October 4, the feast day of Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.

Most Inner Most's philosophy is to create products that are kind to animals and the planet.

We endeavour to use ingredients which are sourced ethically and sustainably. We support suppliers with a similar philosophy. We like to source our ingredients locally, from Southern Africa and Africa, where possible.

Today's skincare formulation experiment was: Whipped Body Butter made from Cacao & Mango Butter with Apricot Kernel and Vit.E Oil.

I love the chocolate 🍫 scent of the Cacao Butter. It masks the lightly sweet scent of the 🥭 Mango butter and slightly almond 🌰 scent of the 🍑 Apricot Kernel oil.

It's a fluffy body butter that feels slightly waxy (but not sticky) and makes my skin feel smooth and pliable.

It's interesting how the different containers change the overall look, feel, and even one's ability to smell the product.

Personally, I like the wide-neck aluminum jar. It's lighter than glass and endlessly recyclable ♻️ which are both good things.

Our skin is more intelligent than you think. It is self-repairing and self-maintaining, and constructed from nutrients provided by one's own diet.

And, that's what's most important to remember... one needs to look holistically at our whole body and lifestyle if we have skin problems.
