Lifestyle/ mom/ wholesome living/ foodie/ fashion/ travel/ fitness Hi Im Beans. I absolutely love cooking and baking with my children; Levi and Charlotte.

Before becoming a mom, I studied to be a foundation phase teacher at Stellenbosch University and opened up a baking business. Now I am a full time mommy and healthy recipe developer. We absolutely love healthy, wholesome food and I would love to share some of my tips and tricks for getting your kids to eat all of the food that is truly nourishing and delicious. I am a big believer in balance and t

So excited that Stud opened in Somerset west today and Platō Coffee is opening tomorrow morning 6am (20 jan). My family are over the moon as they say that Stud burgers are the best in the world (they have a vegan option too). I love that the Pattie’s are free range and grass fed 🙌

I love seeing all these wonderful new spots opening in our special town

If you’re in need of a haircut or blow drop and treatment after the holiday ☀️ then is the place for you!! Just off main road in Somerset west makes it really convenient! I have been coming here for my hair for years and have absolutely loved every single time.. from the welcome drink, the incredible head wash and massage, to the on point haircut, treatment and blow dry!
They also do tinsel which is super cute, I can’t wait to take Charlotte to get some!!

A big congratulations on your new building ! It’s beautiful!!

I made this Christmas Caprese Salad for my family and it was a huge hit! It is really the easiest salad to make and just delicious, a classic for a reason!
How to make:
- Slice mozzarella and tomato (try get tomatoes that are the same size as your ball of mozzarella)
- place fresh rocket and fresh basil leaves on a platter or serving board.
- Arrange your mozzarella and tomato slices on the fresh leaves, in the shape of a candy cane. I started with the curve.
- Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper (I drizzled some balsamic on the rocket but didn’t want the colour to ruin the candy cane so you can place extra balsamic on the table for serving).

And that’s it! Simple, festive and delicious! 🎄🍅🧀

I serve this either as an appetiser with fresh bread or as a salad with the main meal, just make it bigger for more generous portions. Yum!

Such a wonderful colourful experience at this year! I thoroughly enjoyed all the stalls, creativity and just the whole experience. Im blown away by the immense talent that I witnessed today.

It’s a real vibe and people are buzzing! I didn’t manage to take many photos but these are the few happy, rainbow moments I captured of a few of my favorite moments.

If you haven’t been yet, I definitely think it’s worth going. Phone a friend, make a date of it and enjoy the beautiful experience. We really have SO many talented people in this country, what an incredible place to live! I love our rainbow nation 🌈

Well done ✨ in the perfect setting of

As promised, the recipe for DOUBLE CHOCOLATE MUFFINS
Ingredients
* 2 cups (250g) flour
* 1 cup (200g) coconut sugar
* 1/2 cup (41g) cocoa powder
* 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1 and 3/4 cups (315g) chocolate chips
* 2 large eggs, at room temperature
* 3/4 cup (185g) full fat sour cream or plain yoghurt, at room temperature
* 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil (I use coconut oil)
* 1/2 cup (120ml) milk, at room temperature
* 1 and 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
* Nutella for the top (optional)
Instructions
* Preheat oven to 220 C.
* Grease a muffin pan or line with cupcake liners. This recipe makes about 14 muffins, so prepare a second muffin pan or bake in batches.
* Whisk flour, sugar, cocoa powder, bicard of soda, salt & choc chips in a large bowl. Set aside.
* Whisk eggs, sour cream/yoghurt, oil, milk, & vanilla until well combined. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and fold together with a spatula or wooden spoon until combined. (Batter is quite thick) Avoid overmixing.
* Spoon the batter into liners, filling them all the way up.
* spoon nutella onto each one, swirling it into the batter
* Bake for 5 minutes at 200 C then, keeping the muffins in the oven, reduce the temp to 180 C. Bake for an additional 15-16 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. The total baking time is about 20-21 minutes.

Have you ever seen such a huge basket? I fell in love with it when I saw it today while doing groceries at Watertone Village.
It’s handmade by Florence and just had to share the love with all of you. She makes all sorts of baskets, even these sweet colourful ones in the last pic.
The quality is amazing and I can’t wait to put it to use.. I’m thinking of using it for a laundry basket or maybe for a huge tree/plant.. or just throw everything in it when we go to the beach 😊
What do you think? What would you use it for?

Snippets from Kruger. Such special moments and incredible sightings of these absolutely phenomenal animals. Seeing the big 5 was a real highlight!!

Swipe to see the last pic of most of the reality of the trip..

Although we had such wonderful moments we’ve had a really tough time too as the kids and I have been so sick with fever and the worst flu we have ever experienced!

Just a little reminder not to compare your life to what you see others sharing on social media. It’s usually a highlight reel and often times doesn’t show the full picture of what’s going on 🙂
I always remind myself that comparison is the thief of joy, yet gratitude is the gateway to happiness ✨

Happy heritage day 🇿🇦 beautiful South Africa!! I read this quote by Nelson Mandela and loved it so much: “Tread softly, Breathe peacefully. Laugh hysterically”

CHOCOLATE CRUNCH BARS
My family’s firm favourite! These healthy chocolate treats are the best afternoon snack to reach for when you have a sugar craving. They are perfectly balanced between natural sweetness, crunchiness from the roasted flaked almonds, coconut and millet, the creamy peanut butter and the depth of the raw cacao. They are sugar free, gluten free, dairy free & egg free.

Makes 10 blocks
1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
1/3 cup coconut flakes
1/3 cup flaked almonds
1/2 cup puffed millet
1/4 cup peanut butter (or almond butter)
1/4 cup cacao powder
3 Tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
1 tsp vanilla essence
Pinch of salt

Line a 10cm x 20cm loaf tin with baking paper, or line a muffin tray with paper cupcake cases. I doubled the recipe in the video so I used a bigger dish.
Start by roasting the flaked coconut and flaked almonds in a pan over medium heat.
Stir occasionally to prevent them from burning. Remove it from the heat when it turns golden and you can smell a delicious roasted fragrance.

Pour coconut oil, nut butter & honey into a bowl and microwave until melted, mix until combined.
Spoon the chocolate mixture into your lined dish.
Place the dish in the freezer for about 30 mins, (or fridge for longer)or until set.
Remove from the freezer, slice it into squares or bars, eat and enjoy.
Store the squares in the fridge or freezer as they will start to melt at room temperature.
Literally the easiest most delicious treat that even the fussiest eaters will love!
Let me know if you make them and what you think ❤️ 21/09/2023

Our absolute favourite treat also happens to be incredibly easy and healthy!
Definitely worth trying this recipe ❤️

My kids are always looking for snacks this time of the day, usually while I’m making dinner so when I give them this plate before they start searching, they usually eat it all up without me having to try get them to eat their fresh fruit/veg.
I’ve been doing this since they were toddlers and it’s always worked so well. If there’s any leftover then I’ll just add it to my salad or pop it in their lunchbox for the next day.

I hope you all have a good week ✨

I haven’t posted here for a while but I just had to share about my experience at as I am totally obsessed with everything about this place!!
I had the absolute best time and learnt SO much about my skin and received the best advice and treatment!

I’ve tried so many different skincare places out as I’m really trying to take the best care of my skin. is by far my favorite as they tick all the boxes for me!

Firstly they did the Visia skin analysis which tells you EVERYTHING about your skin, wow this was an eye opener for sure 😀
Then they come up with a specialized plan catered for your unique skin type, needs, budget for the best results.
We started with a collagen facial which I also HIGHLY recommend!!
Lorraine even did an eyebrow tint and a neck massage while the mask was on. Gosh it was incredible.

2 days later and my skin is still glowing and feeling amazing. Can’t wait for next time!

I hope you love this place as much as I do and let me know if you go and what you think ❤️
