Today, Hanlie spent the morning at Little Lambs Baby Clinic in Pretoria, speaking to mothers about one of the most important topics in a baby’s first years: Sun Protection🌞
From the moment we’re born, our skin is learning, adapting, and absorbing everything around it - including the sun. Hanlie unpacked what young skin actually consists of, how delicate and different it is to adult skin, and why proper care from infancy lays the foundation for a lifetime of healthy skin👶🏼
The conversation covered it all: the different types of skin cancer to be aware of, how to choose the right sunscreen for babies and toddlers, and exactly what to look out for (and avoid) on an ingredients label.
One of the biggest takeaways? A single sunburn at a young age can have lasting effects, increasing the risk of skin damage, and even skin cancer later in life. That’s why building sun-safe habits early isn’t just a nice-to-have, it’s essential✨
