A patient refused to remove a badly decayed tooth because, according to him, "God gave me 32 teeth. I must return 32."

It was explained to him that the tooth was beyond saving. But he walked away.

Three weeks later, he came back with his neck swollen and couldn't sleep.

He had fever, he couldn't swallow, his tongue was elevated, and he had breathing difficulties and couldn't close his mouth.

Who do you think was right here between the reknown Dr. Mujajati Aaron and Dr Joseph Kamfwa

A major medical debate has erupted on Zambian social media after Dr. Joseph Kamfwa publicly criticized renowned physician Dr. Aaron Mujajati. Dr. Mujajati shared a public health warning following a real-life emergency case at Levy Mwanawasa University Teaching Hospital (LMUTH), where a patient suffered a severe pe**le fracture after using bedroom enhancers.

Dr. Kamfwa, however, openly dismissed the warning as seen in the screenshots above, telling Dr. Mujajati to "stick to your practice" because he is "not a Urologist" and questioning what research he was basing his claims on.

While it is always interesting to see two medical professionals go head-to-head, looking strictly at established global medical literature, Dr. Mujajati's warning is 100% accurate.

Here is the medical breakdown of the situation:
Yes, a Pe**le Fracture is a Real Medical Emergency
While the term sounds strange because there is no bone involved, a pe**le fracture is a very real, excruciatingly painful trauma. It occurs when the tunica albuginea —the thick, elastic membrane that surrounds the erectile chambers—is abruptly bent and ruptured under high pressure. As documented in the LMUTH case, this leads to severe internal bleeding and can even completely tear the urethra.

What the Global Urological Research Says
Dr. Kamfwa asked, "Which research did he do? While Dr. Mujajati did not need to conduct a personal clinical trial to speak on the matter, he is accurately echoing decades of peer-reviewed urological studies.
Decades of global clinical data consistently show that:
"Doggy style" is statistically one of the most high-risk positions for pe**le fractures globally.

The injury almost always happens when the p***s accidentally slips out of the partner and violently impacts the rigid female pelvic bone or perineum instead of re-entering safely.

The Verdict
A doctor does not need to be a practicing urologist to communicate basic anatomical facts and public health warnings to the masses. The mechanics of a pe**le fracture are standard medical school knowledge. Dr. Mujajati was simply using a tragic real-life hospital case at LMUTH to educate the public and save others from an emergency trip to the theater.
When it comes to public safety, sharing evidence-based medical facts isn't "nonsense"—it's preventative care!

Both are learned Doctors, Dr Mujajati is a highly experienced Medical Doctor who has taught resident doctors before, has been President of the Zambia Medical Association, the registra the Health Professions Council of Zambia - HPCZ and the CEO. And Dr Kamfwa is a recently graduated doctor from Unilus.

Dr Joseph Kamfwa writes

Section 50-52 of the Nursing and Midwifery Act no. 10 of 2019 provides the limitations of nurses and midwifery practitioners, and definitely making clinical decisions such as attending to or diagnosing or deciding who to refer isn’t one of their functions. Doing so is overstepping such boundaries or practicing beyond one’s competence level.

I have kept saying this for years and years. No nurse or midwife should make a Medical/clinical decision on a patient. The law is very clear,!!!! They have limited understanding of clinical practice. Their role is nursing and taking orders. In Zambia they perhaps make decisions because they are trying to just help. We sometimes fail to provide them with the necessary professionals legally allowed to undertake such works.

The clinical officers, Medical doctors and Medical Licentiates are by law the only ones who should be able to attend and refer patients, along side this referral, there should be an emergency medical Technician (EMT) in an ambulance - assisted by a nurse/Midwife.

It’ remains wrong allowing nurses to make decisions. Not saying they can’t, but from the legal standpoint, the principal legislation governing nursing and midwifery practice remains prohibitive of the extent to which nurses should practice. Perhaps that safeguard was created for a reason. But unfortunately in zambia we think they can make decisions.

It is my hope that it’s not arising from such assumptions that this life was lost. Rest in peace Moyo
