Im an enthusiastic makeup artist/hairstylist situated in the middle east. Welcome to my page. I recently resigned from MAC after 2 amazing years with the brand.
I am proudly South African, residing in the beautiful city of Cape Town and working as a makeup artist and hair stylist. I studied at Kohl makeup academy in Kloof Street, where I learn't what I needed to strive for- to perfect my makeup skills in editorials, avant garde, bridal, dramatic and natural looks as well as doing an extra course in airbrushing. i then decided i needed to add hair styling
to my list of achievements, so i signed up for Merle Titus's hair course, just to broaden my horizons and keep up to trend. Once I finished my makeup course I started working for Inglot after I graduated. Where I learn't a lot from all the different artists around me, as time progressed I decided I needed more of a challenge so I moved over to MAC cosmetics, I learnt something new everyday, being able to be part of the ''front of house'' MAC team at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Cape Town allowed me to keep up with the latest trends and the buzz in the fashion world. I now work for myself, working on my own brand called nimRah_. nimRah_ is my second name which means tiger/lion in Arabic and Persian. i thought this fit for my brand, as i want women to be fierce and go for what they want, looking amazing as they do it. I have also been very lucky to work with high branded modelling agencies and well known models- one of which featured in Italian VOGUE. I have also worked with well established fashion photographers from South Africa, Germany, London and Switzerland. And clothing designers such as Cloak and Dagger, Kokonova, The dollhouse clothing, Gabrielle Fraser designs, EDGE by Brandon Berg, Kurt Both for EVEemporium just to name a few. i have also worked on published stories for Glamour magazine, Lucy magazine and a fashion friend. I also joined the Baked The Blog team, which I am extremely excited about! We hosted our first makeup workshop in March 2015 in conjunction with Vida e cafe, which was a HUGE success. Where I taught the ladies all the tricks of the trade. I was also a guest speaker on a talk show called the journey on DStv.
2016 is a year of firsts, I worked on my first movie- Cinderella which is being filmed in CapeTown. Hard work definitely pays off! I choose to freelance fulltime, I just cant get enough of makeup! I enjoy doing bridal and high fashion looks the most! I love how makeup can transform just about anyone or just enhance natural beauty, filling you with confidence and making you feel amazing! I created this page to share my passion for makeup and hair.
