Patchwork sfx makeup - I just went with the flow on this one and let my creativity run wild. This is what came out! What do you think? Scary enough for Halloween?

Sunday Riley ‘Good Genes’ Lactic Acid

This is a product that I have bought over and over again, and every time I run out my skin hates me for it. Enough so that I now keep a back-up at all times so I never run out!

Lactic acid is the key ingredient in the serum/treatment. Lactic acid deeply yet gently chemically exfoliates the skin. It’s great for all skin types – even dry skin, as it’s not too drying unlike some other acids which are more suited to oily skin types. Lactic acid works in tandem with liquorice to brighten and plump the skin.

Now, it claims to be clinically proven to visibly brighten and plump the skin in just 3 minutes – which is amazing and I well believe it, however I don’t remember when I first used it so I can’t claim to back this up. However I do remember instantly liking the product and loving it more and more as time went by.

So, how to use? Two pumps is enough to cover my face and neck. I use it at night time, on clean, toned skin and before moisturiser. You can use it during the day as well (just load up on the SPF!).

The texture is thicker than your typical serums, as it’s highly concentrated. I personally like this. If your skin is on the oily side, you may not even need an added moisturiser…especially during the day. I buy the 30 ml bottle which usually lasts me around 6 weeks using it every night.
I always notice my skin is brighter, looks more even and feels really smooth and hydrated when I use this. Overall it just looks really healthy! Which is goals, right!?

KVD Beauty Good Apple Foundation

This is the latest in KVDs foundation range. I’ve tried the rest of their foundations and have always loved them. This one is no different!
This is a really unusual product! I’ve never tried anything quite like this before. It’s a balm formula, and is really lightweight, but then still high coverage. You only need a tiny tiny amount to give a flawless yet natural looking base – a little goes a very long way.

I like applying this with a loose, fluffy brush (think of a blusher style brush, rather than a foundation brush) and really buffing it in to the skin in circular motions. Warning – the consistency of this product is very unusual, so be very careful when dipping your brush in, gently does it! This is not a problem, just something to consider because it’s not like your typical foundations.

This is a matte finish foundation, yet feels really hydrating and lightweight, and it’s noncomedogenic. Basically, it’ll work well for all skin types.
