I have been on the fence for the longest time because of beauty standards shoved down on us by social media . Real skin with texture is looked down on.
We are made to believe makeup results in porcelain skin. The “transitions “ are like magic wands that seal all the pores and flatten out the moles seen in the “before”. An “after” that doesn’t exhibit such prowess is seen as not good enough . Expectations have become unrealistic, which is very sad.
Not everything has to be themed and curated to fit a certain social media aesthetic . Honestly no filter is so much better because it is the “imperfections” that give the videos and photos life and vitality. It is refreshing to be looking at and engaging with a real person whose beauty you can actually relate to .
Ps: Am not referring to Light edits as these are usually needed to bring out colours better depending on the device used to capture…

About last night’s live…
A big thank you to everyone who joined in. It had been long since I last did a live session and yesterday was a pleasant reminder of how much I love doing this.
For me, makeup isn’t just the application of products nor is it a mask . It is so much more. It goes way beyond what’s seen on the surface. It has been my solace for the longest time. Although I don’t get to do it as often as I would like these days, it remains one of my favorite things to do ❤️
