❤️ Is your heart beating faster than usual? Don’t panic — there are a few simple ways to help it return to normal:
👉🏻 Stay hydrated. Dehydration can cause the blood to thicken, which means your heart has to work harder to circulate it
👉🏻 Avoid caffeine and ni****ne
👉🏻 Maintain a healthy weight. The larger the body, the harder the heart must work to supply it with blood
👉🏻 Reduce stress. Practicing relaxation techniques like meditation, tai chi, or other stress-relief methods can lower your resting heart rate over time
👉🏻 Get moving. To give your heart a healthy workout, the American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes per week of vigorous activity
🏥 When to see a doctor:
if your resting heart rate is consistently above 85 beats per minute, mention it to your doctor. While it may be normal for you, it's essential to understand how your heart rate and other personal factors might impact your overall health, including your risk of cardiovascular disease

❣️ Your smartphone is your personal heart monitor!
Now you can measure your pulse without complicated devices and visits to the doctor. All you need is your phone and our app
Wellmy uses photoplethysmography (PPG) technology powered by AI algorithms:
👉🏻 PPG is a non-invasive way to detect volumetric changes in blood in peripheral circulation. Blood absorbs light and each pulse from the heart increases the blood flow in the body and to the fingertips. It is possible to keep track of changes in this pulse by measuring changes in light absorption
✅ Advantages of the technology:
• safe and non-invasive
• fast and convenient - anytime, anywhere
• storage of measurement history for health monitoring

📈 Why your heart rate goes up when you’re sick
Have you ever noticed that your heart starts beating faster when you have a cold? It's not a coincidence! Here are some reasons why your heart might beat faster when you’re sick:
👉🏻 infections: common viral or bacterial infections, such as flu, COVID-19 and norovirus, can cause your heart rate to increase
👉🏻 fever: when your body temperature rises, so does your heart rate
👉🏻 dehydration: when you don’t drink enough fluids, your blood thickens and your body works harder to pump oxygen
👉🏻 stress or anxiety: emotional or physical stress can increase your heart rate and blood pressure
👉🏻 medications: just as beta blockers tend to slow your pulse, some medications can have the opposite effect and raise your heart rate. These can include prescription or over-the-counter drugs used to treat asthma and allergies, coughs and colds, thyroid conditions, depression and more

❗️Do this if you notice anyone showing any symptoms of a stroke❗️
Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a stroke, even if they seem to come and go or they disappear completely. Think "FAST" and do the following 👇🏻
Don't wait to see if symptoms stop. Every minute counts. The longer a stroke goes untreated, the greater the potential for brain damage and disability.

⚡️ We all have a personal resting heart rate, ‘a minimum heart rate’, and a maximum heart rate. And between these values are different HR zones that correspond to training intensity and training benefit.
There are different ways to identify your heart rate zones calculation. One simple way is to define them as percentages of your maximum heart rate.
Heart rate zones are closely linked to your aerobic and anaerobic thresholds. Understanding this can really help when considering heart rate zones exercise, especially your heart rate zones for running or heart rate zone training for weight loss.
👇🏻 Let’s look at what the different zones are in our new post!

❤️ Did you know that you can measure your heart rate in just a minute? This simple skill will help you monitor your health and notice changes in time. Let's find out how to do it!
Follow these steps to measure your heart rate (or someone else’s):
👉🏻Take the pads/tips of your index (pointer) finger and middle finger.
👉🏻Press them gently against the side of your neck (just under your jawline). Or press on the inside of your wrist, below the base of your thumb.
👉🏻Count the number of beats you feel for 15 seconds. Use a stopwatch or other timing device to track the seconds accurately.
👉🏻Multiply the number of beats by 4.
That number is your heart rate.
For example, if you count 20 beats in 15 seconds, multiply 20 by 4, for a total of 80 beats per minute.
Try it right now and share the result in the comments! Your health is in your hands! 🖐
