My favourite time to practise Face Yoga is early in the morning—after my breathwork and meditation, when my mind and body are still quiet.
I give my face just 10 intentional minutes.
I stretch and mobilise the facial muscles and fascia, encourage lymphatic drainage and circulation, and release the tension and stagnation my face may have carried from the previous day.
Over the years, people have repeatedly warned me:
“Wait until you reach your 40s.”
“Wait until you reach your 50s.”
“Wait until menopause changes your face.”
And yes, my face has changed. Of course it has. I don’t expect—or want—to look exactly as I did in my 30s.
But through consistency, I feel I have maintained its tone, lift and structure while preserving the natural softness that has always been part of my face.
Face Yoga isn’t about fighting age. For me, it is about keeping my face mobile, supported, expressive and alive as I age.
You don’t need hours. You need intention, the right technique and consistency.
Save this full-face routine and practise it with me tomorrow morning. ❤️
I’m turning 53 very soon, and these are five slightly delulu things I do that keep me looking and feeling my best in my 50s.
Number one: I refuse to mentally rehearse my decline.
I have never imagined myself becoming old, haggard, exhausted or lifeless. That version of me simply doesn’t exist in my mind.
When I picture myself growing older, I see a woman who is vibrant, energized, glowing and fully alive. I am also very conscious of my language. I don’t keep saying, “I’m getting old,” or blame everything I feel on being in my 50s.
Number two: I meet the woman I am becoming every morning.
During meditation, I visualize how I want to feel, how I want to carry myself and the energy I want to bring into a room. I even imagine how people respond to that energy.
Before the world tells me who to be, I decide who I am.
Number three: I ruthlessly protect my energy.
I am deeply sensitive to people’s energy. If someone repeatedly disturbs my peace, drains me or makes me feel smaller, I create distance. I don’t care how long I’ve known them or what role they play in my life.
You cannot glow in an environment that is constantly dimming you.
Number four: I journal out everything that feels heavy.
I don’t allow resentment, anger, fear and unspoken thoughts to keep living inside my body. I write them out. Journaling helps me release what I no longer want my face, body or nervous system to carry.
And number five: my delusion is backed by devotion.
I move my body. I work on my posture. I nourish myself. I meditate, breathe, practise lymphatic drainage, face yoga and face massage.
I don’t wait until I look tired to care for myself. These are daily messages to my body: we are alive, we are supported, and we are still becoming.
Maybe “delulu” is simply holding a powerful vision of yourself, and loving her consistently until your reality begins to reflect her.
Before you spend money on another neck cream—or start thinking about injectables—ask yourself: when was the last time you actually stretched your neck?
The appearance of your neck isn’t only about the skin. Beneath it lies the platysma, a broad, thin muscle that extends from the chest and collarbones towards the jaw. Hours spent looking down can leave this entire area feeling tight and compressed.
Cream cannot stretch a muscle. Movement can.
This is why I look up, stretch both sides, kiss the ceiling and extend my tongue to deepen the stretch. I practise this every day—sometimes two or three times a day.
I’m 52, and this is one of the simple rituals genuinely working for me.
Take a before picture, stay consistent and see the difference for yourself.
Save this and start today.
Lift your cheeks, A daily move that I do, Try it and let me know how it feels
