Hi, I’m Rochelle Ward of Don’t Break the Comb.
I’m an educator, poet, writer and longtime natural-hair enthusiast who believes that hair is about much more than what we put on it or how we style it.
For me, hair is connected to care, culture, family, memory, identity and story.
That belief has shaped Don’t Break the Comb from its early days of natural-hair education and community workshops to what it is becoming today: a space where we shop, learn and gather around the many ways hair touches our lives.
And increasingly, I find myself returning to one idea:
Hair holds story.
So whether you’ve been here for years or you’ve just found DBC, welcome. There’s much more to explore.
