1. Beware the sun! ‼ 🌞

It's summer. We all love a relaxing day in the sun at the beach, sipping a cold lemonade while working on your tan. However, we have to be mindful that prolonged sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and other skin problems.

Always use sunscreen and limit your time in the sun, especially in the afternoon.

2. Avoid smoking ⛔

Smoking narrows the blood vessels in the outermost layers of the skin, which means a decreased blood flow and paler skin. This also depletes the skin of oxygen and the important nutrients that keep it vibrantly healthy.

It damages collagen and elastin, both which contribute to stronger and more elastic skin, and it additionally increases the risk of squamous cell skin cancer.

The best way to protect your skin, and to improve your overall health, is to quit smoking altogether.

3. Manage Stress 😤😤

This is especially important for those suffering from an underlying skin condition.

The chemical response that excessive stress triggers in the body can make the skin more sensitive and reactive, triggering flare-ups and aggravating symptoms of eczema, psoriasis and rosacea.

Here's a few ways to handle stress:
- Get enough sleep. THIS is probably the most important one, and likely the only one you'll ever need;
- Meditating, or doing simple breathing exercises, can do wonders;
- Seek support from a friend or a professional therapist.

3 Amazing Foods to help with Seborrheic Dermatitis

It is tempting to assume that the only solution is medicine, especially when dealing with severe cases. However, I find that a consistent, healthy diet works best. 💯💯

Here’s what I recommend.

1. Leafy Greens
Besides a plethora of other benefits (one of my personal favorites being that they keep one looking young), leafy vegetables are particularly good against all types of eczema. They support an optimal gut health, a healthy inflammatory response, and boost digestive enzymes - all of which are extremely important when dealing with any skin condition.

2. Beetroot
Concerning skin health, the most important benefit of beets is that they are high in fiber which promotes a healthy digestive system. They are also rich in calcium, high in potassium and nitrates, and loaded with iron.

3. Fish
Symptoms of seborrheic dermatitis may also be lessened by eating fatty fish, such as salmon and herring. Fish oil contains high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, which are anti-inflammatory.
