Support is abundant when you are surrounded by people who align with you.
We all give and receive support in different ways and in the last two weeks I have been reminded of that in my two professions - then to realise the support on offer is mainly due to the people I am lucky enough to be surrounded by.
I love teaching yoga and offering my support to many people weekly - it fills my cup! At times I question if I have 'enough' to give in a class, my cup feels low, my brain is overstretched and I feel my capacity is limited - how can I muster the sufficient energy needed to guide people, too hold space, to challenge or develop their practise, to allow them to be gentle on themselves, to help something shift or change. And then I have these moments where I realise - my students support me too and I'm so lucky to have their support!
Whether it be words of gratitude, empathetic listening, acceptance of my mistakes (nobody is perfect!) or gestures like giving me emergency snacks or graciously loaning me their car when ours was broken down! I am blown away by the quality of the communities I get to be involved in and am so humbled by the support.
Much love to you all! β€οΈππ»

Last Sunday's Yin class ticked me into over 500 hours of teaching!!! β€οΈ
So amazing being able to guide people through such a beneficial practise for body, mind and soul every week. So grateful to have started practising yoga, and to my teachers, my students (sometimes they are one and the same) and everyone who has supported me on the journey so far.

Non-accumulation and non-attachment can simply mean that you donβt depend on someone or something external for your own happiness and stability.
The 5th Yama of Patanjali's 8 limb path of Hatha yoga.
In this weeks yoga classes I'll be speaking a bit about Aparigraha or non hoarding/non attachment after it's recently inspired me. In the last week there have been some options for change arise, which tends to set off my problem solving or analytical brain. This time I tried not to let those parts guide me. I feel that stepping into a place of not being attached to the outcome and not basing my happiness on one option over another has saved me energy and created a wonderful clarity, contentment and calmness.
I feel lucky to have never really been one to attach my happiness on material items and have no problem decluttering my possessions, but do tend to fall into the thinking pattern of - 'I'll be happy when X happens' or 'it will be better when X is over' (especially when tired or not spending enough time on my practises). So to have actively leant into the non attachment, to trust that whatever happens is exactly how it is supposed to happen and to find true joy in everyday moments feels like - although it's my aim - it's not my usual route.
I'm really proud of for walking this path recently, now being in this place where the shift has begun and I'm watching it all unfold with a sense of ease, happiness and gratitude - I'll try to keep walking this path the best I can and share that knowledge with anyone who may wish to receive it. β€οΈππ»πΏπ§πΌββοΈ

βLive quietly in the moment and see the beauty of all before you. The future will take care of itself.β - Paramahansa Yogananda
Birthdays are for me always a time for some reflection and the wisdom that it brings. As the years go by - the more I try to soften any hard grip and just allow myself to unapologetically be, allow myself to grown into whoever I am meant to. Although I feel many things now slowly leaving my life or changing into something very different - there are also so many things to look forward to.
Feeling very humbled and hugely grateful for the experience of life and the wonderful people I get to share it with ππ»β€οΈ

This week's Yin session's are focusing on processing grief. It can be a tough thing to experience and often doesn't seem to get any easier with each new blow - but it is a process that must continue nonetheless. We'll be focusing on the Lung and Large Intestine Meridian with plenty of support for any emotional experiencing in between.
This past week marks 4 year since my Dad passed away, and a bit over a month ago marks 11 years since loosing a dear friend. Recently there has been plenty of changes, goodbyes and closing of chapters, all of which catches up with you eventually. You will be in good company to honour any feelings of loss.
Next class is Sunday at 5:30 - Exhale Yoga Studio
