Great quick DIY’s for home use

Are you new to the idea of making your own cleaning or personal care products?
Do you think it may take you too long or it is too hard?
What is stopping you from making your own products?

Here are 5 DIY's that that take 5 mins or less to make.

1️⃣Foaming Hand Soap:

What you need:
20 drops Essential Oil (try a protective blend or a combination of oils you love!)
Castile Soap - approx 1/4-1/3 of the volume of the container you are using
Filtered water or Cooled boiled water
Foaming pump bottle (consider a PET bottle if using in wet areas)
A teaspoon of a carrier oil (e.g. Fractionated Coconut Oil, Almond Oil, Jojoba etc.) This ingredient is optional and is included to provide a subtle moisturising effect.

What you do:
Place the 20 drops of your chosen essential oils into the foamer pump bottle.
Gently add the castile soap to the foamer pump bottle so as to minimise any frothing at this stage.
Add carrier oil (optional).
Fill the remainder of bottle with filtered water or cooled boiled water, leaving room for foamer pump top.
Replace foamer pump top and shake gently to combine the ingredients.

2️⃣Soft Cleaning Scrub

What you need:
¾ rounded cup baking soda
¼ cup unscented liquid castile soap
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon vinegar
5–10 drops Lemon oil

What you do:
In bowl, combine baking soda and castile soap.
Add water and stir.
Add vinegar and essential oil. The consistency should be a soft paste.
Store in airtight container.

To use, just apply and let it sit for 5–10 minutes and then scrub. Once done scrubbing, take a wet cloth and wipe clean. Note: this scrub is also great to use when cleaning your kitchen sink or refrigerator.

3️⃣Surface Spray

What you need:
60ml Vinegar
20 drops of essential oil (try a protective blend or Lemon & Tea Tree)
Filtered water or Cooled boiled water
Glass trigger spray bottle

What you do:
Place the vinegar and essential oils into the glass trigger spray bottle.
Fill the remainder of the bottle with filtered water or cooled boiled water.
Put the trigger spray head on tight and shake to mix the ingredients.

4️⃣Toilet Cleaning Pods

What you need:
1 cup baking soda
¼ cup citric acid
1½ tablespoon castile soap
15 drops Essential Oil - We suggest a cleansing blend, Lemon or Lemongrass.
Ice Cube Tray

What you do:
Stir the baking soda and citric acid together until combined.
Slowly stir in the castile soap and Purify. Stir until the mixture resembles wet sand.
Pack the pod mixture into an ice cube tray and let dry at least four hours. If the mixture expands above the tray, firmly press back down.
Once dry, remove the pods from the tray and store in an airtight container.

To use, simply drop one - two pods into the toilet, wait until the pod stops bubbling, and scrub away!

5️⃣Sugar Scrub

What you need:
3 Tbsp of Sweet Almond oil
2 Tbsp of Apricot Kernel oil
1 Tbs of Fractionated Coconut Oil
10-15 drops of essential oil (try lemon and lavender)
A couple of drops of Vitamin E
1/4 cup Brown sugar
3/4 cup of Raw sugar
Airtight container

What you do:
Add all carrier oils to a bowl - OR make diectly in the container you will store the scrub in
Add Essential Oils
Add Sugars
Stir well and transfer to container

These are just 5 extremely simple DIY's you can make in 5 mins or less. They are extremely simple and work well. We suggest giving at least one of these a go to see how easy it is and to build your confidence in making DIY products. As your confidence grows, you may be brave enough to give some DIY's a go that take 10 minutes to make!

You don't have to DIY EVERYTHING, but you can sure cut down on cost and exposure to questionable and often harmful ingredients by making some easy products like the ones listed here.

Ice blue is brilliant 💙💧
