Mum grows the calendula in her garden. Dad's olive oil comes from the grove at Myponga Beach. The beeswax is my godfather's.
Three people, three ingredients, one small batch. Nothing else goes in.
The calendula steeps in the olive oil for weeks before it ever reaches the pot. You can't rush that part, and we've stopped trying.

Olive oil soap doesn't foam much, it creams. That's the fat doing the work rather than a foaming agent. Takes some getting used to if you've come from a supermarket bar.
Every ZERO bar begins as olive oil.
That's the first thing into the pot, and most of what ends up in the bar. Poured by hand into moulds, cut one loaf at a time, then left to cure for six weeks.
No fragrance. No essential oils.
Nothing added for the sake of it — which is the point, if your skin reacts to everything else.

Mum still makes every batch by hand.

More than thirty years ago, Dad planted olive trees on the cliffs above Myponga Beach. It reminded him of home.
Dad was just a boy when his family left Imbros, a small Greek island in the Aegean, and came to Adelaide. They arrived knowing exactly what good olive oil was.
What began as his hobby became something we'd carry forward. Mum started making soap with it, she has sensitive skin and wanted something simple.
Three years ago, we launched OOLUX together.
A nod to Mum and Dad, and to the cliffs where it all began. 🫒🤍
