🚫🚨🎄 WE WERE SHUT DOWN BY COUNCIL AFTER THEIR OWN MISTAKE. WHERE IS THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT ADELAIDE? 🎄🚨🚫

This morning we proudly set up at the Adelaide offering reindeer buns and festive face painting, a little touch of magic for the kids while they are waiting to see Santa and the parade go by.We had written approval and support by some really lovely and helpful Adelaide City Council staff to be there. After a jam-packed first hour of laughter, glitter and pure Christmas joy, some not so nice council representatives approached us abruptly saying there had been a “mistake” and that the Adelaide City Council team who approved us wasn’t authorised. When I asked how this could happen after receiving written approval, I was told it was an “inappropriate time for questions” and that we needed to pack up immediately, not even able to finish the kids who had had been waiting so patiently in line. No apology. No compassion. Just confusion.The saddest part is that it wasn’t us who were affected, it was the children. The little ones who had been waiting, excited for their turn to get a touch of Christmas sparkle, left standing confused and heartbroken. All we wanted was to bring smiles, laughter and a little Christmas magic to the streets of Adelaide. For a day meant to celebrate community, kindness and the true spirit of Christmas, this was anything but....A huge thank you to the nearby stallholders, local businesses and general public who stood up for what was right, and showed genuine community spirit.
